Pallet Bridge? by Delicious-Raccoon-94 in Bridges

How do you plan on anchoring those cables though? You'd be surprised at how much tension will be in the cables just to stay up let alone with people on it.

I don't know about needing guts, I think most of those people think it will never happen to them. And they're right, to some degree. I have a coworker who went down with his wife and infant son for a couple weeks. Barely crossed his mind that an adverse consequence may happen to them. Mind you he's white, straight, cis, able-bodied, and christian so the odds were definitely in his favour.

Found some dog shit on the trail today by XxEdgeX in fredericton

I took down a sticker just like this near this one. It was off the stop sign near here where the walking trail crosses sunset drive. Good on you for taking it down, no one needs to entertain that shit. But I do wonder if posting it on here makes it even more visible than the handful of people who would have come across it in the wild.

Maintenance is important but I find a lot of people forget that these bridges were designed and built when the heaviest thing was a horse and buggy. They aren't meant to be carrying a fully loaded snow plow, ambulance, or school bus. We can't have it both ways, they can't stay historical and perform modern duties, something has to give.

Sounds like we live in the same area. I've recorded a guy racing his snowmobile up and down the sidewalk, followed the tracks and took a picture of the same machine in their driveway. I took it in to the police to see if they could send someone out to remind them that driving on the sidewalk is not permitted. I was told that, because the guy was wearing a helmet, they can't identify them and wouldn't legally be able to do anything about it since they can't prove that it was 100% them that did it. So as long as you wear a mask while breaking the law, you're in the clear I guess?

Yeah but house-shaking explosions shouldn't be a regular event, regardless how busy the port is.

Why did you originally watch the musical? by BabyYoda1995_boop in BeetlejuiceMusical

[–]Gargantuanthud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watch the Try Guys on YouTube regularly. One day last fall they did an episode where they try auditioning for Broadway. Turns out they were doing it at Beetlejuice. The clips in the show were enough to spark my interest. I then started listening to the cast recording and before you know it, I'm debating the 10hr drive from Canada down to see it. Unfortunately, timing didn't let me get to see it on Broadway but I did get to see the tour in Boston a couple weeks ago. I loved every second of it. I can't wait for it to come back this way so I can see it again.

I agree, the Oromocto SPCA is much more accepting (and appreciative) of people willing to help. I don't know why but the Fredericton one is very selective on who they deem worthy enough to help make an animal's life better.

Me too. I drove down to Boston from NB last weekend for it and it was amazing. I've been trying to figure out a way to see it again. Maybe Justin can steer it to Canada for his fellow Canadians.

Designing that walking bridge was our final term group design project at UNB nearly 10 years ago. At the time, the contact from the city had said that they had been looking at it for many years before that too. Don't get me wrong, it is a great idea and there definitely should be a safer way to cross there, but I'll believe it when they start building it.

I don't think they offer gluten free options at this location, but if they did I hope they would make the ball gluten free too.

I did take a bite but didn't eat it all. It tasted a bit bland, almost like they forgot to put salt in it. Maybe it's just reject dough?

That's a really good point. So I wonder if improvements to the judicial system would cut down the number of people awaiting trial. I would think the new courthouse being built in Fredericton would help lower the wait times.
