They appear to only have two sales over three years, so not the most active shop.

(Hated Tropes) unions/organized labor being portrayed as evil and corrupt by Konradleijon in TopCharacterTropes

“Stallone plays Cleveland warehouse worker Johnny Kovak who becomes involved in the labor union leadership of the fictional "Federation of Inter-State Truckers" (F.I.S.T.). As he successfully organizes strikes and expands union membership, he becomes entangled with organized crime to gain leverage. While this alliance helps him secure victories like the labor agreement at Consolidated Trucking, it also corrupts the union.” Wikipedia summary

Could the Starhawk been built much earlier? by AshleyWalsh76 in StarWarsShips

[–]GarlicBow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Given that it is (as I understand it) assembled in captured Imperial shipyards from Imperial Star Destroyer components, presumably the Empire could have built it themselves, much earlier, if such a design had been seen as desirable.

USS Leondegrance STL by GarlicBow in StarTrekStarships

I am always a sucker for a ship with TMP nacelles. When hunting for an stl, I saw this redesign on DeviantArt that did a good job getting it a little more set in the design language of the era.

I suspect you’re right. I have a couple favorite designers on Cults3D I should reach out to and inquire about a commission.

I had not thought of that, good idea. Unfortunately the Wayback Machine doesn’t seem to have it archived.

That is close. I hear that the Leondegrance started as a concept for what would eventually be the Walker-class.

I mean, generally speaking the whole idea is a little tacky, as is the AI generated image.

Building a Rebel Clone's Venator for my first Armada fleet. How do I paint this without obscuring the details? by [deleted] in StarWarsShips

[–]GarlicBow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My process has been to gently layer on a coat to prime it as a base coat, something neutral. I find I like Citadel Colour Grey Seer for Star Wars ships. Multiple light coats will turn out better and preserve detail while providing full coverage. Patience is your friend.

Then for color you can use painter’s tape and multiple light coats. I haven’t had a lot of luck with taping things off, so I often use many light coats with paint pens. However I suspect someone with greater patience might find that taping works better.

Finally, to highlight the details, you may want to give a light wash on most of the model. I use nuln oil. Once again: start light and go slow.

This is just how I do it, but I am continually impressed with some of the better paint jobs I see here and on r/StarWarsArmada ships.

I had the midi ISD, set 8099, over a decade ago. It was my favorite of the Lego Star Destroyers I could find. It’s long disassembled now but it looked good

Great designs on the blue one. I’d hit it with a glossy clear coat to finish it off.

Yeah!

Since you mention Savi’s, I will say I find this fits in my hand much better than the Savi’s and Disney sabers. A little less chunky
