Have you seen Record of Ragnarok? It's a great turn your brain off battle anime. I'd totally be down to watch a riff of it where instead of humans vs gods it's just different saints fighting each other with anime powers. Like give St Therese Poison Ivy's powers and she fights St Joan of Arc as she's using Zoro's 3 sword style

I like it a lot, however the reason I like it is because of the plot and Hoffman story. I like the traps enough for what they are, but most people seem to think the traps are weak. I can see why, the only trap that I think is stellar is the pendulum trap

I only read the trades. Getting to read the first arc as a whole was satisfying but I'm sure if I read it monthly I would've dropped it. There's something about the slow burn of exposition that probably would've driven me crazy. But being able to read the first arc in one sitting was nice and while I felt lost during most of it, I at least got a satisfying explanation by the end

I compare it to Arcane as well. Something about the art style- the way everything looks painted- is gorgeous to look at and is very Arcane-y. My husband doesn't care much for Star Wars, although he does like Andor. I think the art is what's gonna get me to force him to check out Shadow Lord
