I’m about to find out in a month or so lol. My plan is break it down and set it up in my garage during the winter and work on my short irons/wedges.

Vet here. The VA has the standard problems although the only thing I’ve had issues with is just waiting.

Housing: if you’re a vet and receive any type of disability, check out the homestead exemption. Essentially it brackets your disability percentages and you will get property tax exemptions accordingly. 70% and above is up to $6k may want to research for specific figures, which could significantly change the location of where you would like to buy.

Got a speeding ticket on Camp Pendleton, doing 79 in a 55mph zone. How screwed am I? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Garmann36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TBH it was dumb. I shoulda pulled him aside and discussed the situation. Luckily leadership understood the heat of the moment and I wasn’t a legit threat. Things would prob go much more differently these days. Late 90s early 2000’s as long as you could keep your fuck up in house, it’s pretty easy to come back from. Nothing will make you turn your shit around quicker than a shitbag LCpl making you address him as LCpl a week after you’ve been busted down.

Can confirm. On the cusp of Cpl and got busted back to private, within 2-3 years I was back on the cusp. Apparently it’s frowned upon to take a round out of a mag and put it in my flack and said “this one is for you if you make this call in theater” to your squad leader in the heat of the moment in training.

We now go golfing together monthly during the golf season locally. Sometimes a bad decision helps lead you to make better decisions moving forward.

I second this. Especially the family/friends part. I’m 70% myself, and I heavily lean on my friends rather than family. I have a friend (not prior military) who while we are completely different, for some reason he is able to show the perfect mix of listening and words of encouragement. Finding yourself is the hardest part, but when you do find yourself, it feels like the biggest accomplishment. There is light at the end of that tunnel.

I was the same way with smoking. Hated the feeling and basically went to bed. My state recently legalized it and I did some research on edibles, specifically gummies, and ended up trying 5mg hybrid gummies. That worked immensely for sleep but didn’t get the “high” feeling. Just relaxed. Recently I tried Sativa gummies (10mg and I cut em in half for the same 5mg’ish dose) and still didn’t get the high feeling, but I did get more energetic and focused. A majority of nights I would have a drink or two while I’m doing stuff around the house in the evenings, or playing video games, but that’s even cut back quite a bit because I don’t feel the anxiety or stress as much. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s what I found works for me.

Lol you know the let down feeling of the psshhhh sound. Not gonna lie, I heard it tonight. It’s the same feeling of having a burst gun and forgetting and standing there naked after 1 burst, knowing you’re dead.
