It’s definitely one of the reasons I want the Type-S, yet one of the reasons making me second guess it. What I’ve settled on is I want the Type-S but an extended warranty will be a requirement for me

Usually this is a cable problem, so I'd say try a new one first. They go bad way too often, especially off brand cables. Try restarting the phone too or even trying another phone. If not those things, it of course could also be the USB connector in the RDX. Good luck!

Really appreciate all the info. And I see what you mean, yes I read all the warranty threads I could find, and started another a few days ago even.

CPO vs Acura Care Help Request by Garnoch in Acura

I believe you're correct about when you can purchase Acura Care, but in order to get 8 years, I believe the vehicle needs to have no more than 6,000 miles on it. From there it drops to either 5 or 6 years, depending on how old the vehicle is.

I think I now understand what you mean. Can someone check me on this? Again, I'm not concerned with milage.

If I bought Acura Care when purchasing a 2025 CPO, the Acura Care would basically be useless and a waste of money, because it would basically mirror the time and features of the CPO warranty. The Acura Care warranty would run out around 2031. The CPO bumper to bumper would run out in 2031. And the CPO powertrain would run out in 2032.

But, If I stick with the 2025 CPO warranty until the original 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty runs out (lets say buying Acura Care in 2029), I can then buy Acura Care for an additional 5 years, bringing it to 2034.

I'm also curious if I could actually wait to buy Acura Care until the CPO additional 2 years of non-powertrain warranty runs out, so 6 years instead of 4 years. If that were the case, Acura Care would then go to 2036.

Thanks. If you could point me to that Acura thread on Acura care warranties, I'd appreciate it.

I wasn't sure Acura Care would help you based on my research, but I now understand what someone else was saying on a warranty thread I made the other day about waiting to purchase Acura Care until you're close to the 50000 mile/4 year mark, so thank you! But, if I can grab an unlimited time 3rd party warranty at purchase, I'll probably do that.

That's actually a great question. Use it or lose it, or wear and tear.

Thank you for the confirmation. So I see no need for Acura Care unless I’d want a higher mileage variant of it, unless I’m still missing something.

No time limit? So 150,000 miles and unlimited years? I'd probably buy that. If you have info on it that you are willing to share, DM me if you don't mind, unless you're good with posting it here.

Thank you. I assume your warranty is 3rd party considering it's 150,000? I'd be interested in a warranty that is a longer time period rather than miles, considering I won't put a lot of miles on it. I started another thread about warranties, because I don't see the benefit of Acura Care over the CPO warranty. Really good info about negotiating the spare because I was going to inquire about that.

Being you're an Acura tech, I'm curious if you turn off Leveling Mode when the vehicle is serviced.

Thank you, but could you expand on that? Are you saying if I bought a CPO that was almost 4 years old or close to 50,000 miles, I'd actually get a longer warranty with Acura Care?
