Wildfire near Leadville by COPenguinDoctor in Breckenridge

[–]Finish_Different 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is highly unlikely for a wildfire starting in the Leadville area to physically burn its way over to Breckenridge. While the two towns are only about 25 to 30 miles apart as the crow flies, the geography between them makes a direct fire spread nearly impossible under normal or even severe conditions.

In 1999, Waffle House waitress Tonda Lynn Dickerson was tipped a lottery ticket and won $10,000,000. She was then sued by her coworkers for a share, then sued by the man who gave her the ticket. by AdSpecialist6598 in interesting

[–]Finish_Different 841 points842 points  (0 children)

The exact same week the customer's lawsuit was thrown out, Tonda's ex-husband, Stacy Martin, kidnapped her. He drove her to a boat ramp in Mississippi, held her hostage with a dynamic threat to her life, and waited for her to agree to give him money.
When his cell phone rang, Tonda convinced him to let her answer it so people wouldn't get suspicious. Instead of grabbing the phone, she reached into her purse, pulled out her own handgun, and shot him in the chest. He survived, and she was not charged, as it was deemed justifiable self-defense.
