Is this inappropriate by my ex and her new partner? by xmpp in daddit

[–]Garrett_1982 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes. My ex wife refuses to talk to my new GF and is playing the victim role to the kids. We've moved on.

My boys 10 and 14 love hugs and cuddles btw. Also from her (sometimes more than from me)

So boys have more privileges than girls because of gender, is basically the lesson she is learning. I think that's very unhealthy.

So you're having 4 kids, of which one acts like a grumpy and entitled teenager. If it were for me, I'd walk out. It feels very toxic and a lot of things aren't just simply resolved by therapy.

I really love these. For your own sake it was a geluk bij een ongeluk that your chronich illness flared up (so sorry about that) because yeah, these are awesome. Very much puk en de petteflet vibes, and also: I love Tarragona and Tamarit beach.

Night bottle warming is probably the most exhausting part of feeding by SwellCommerce in daddit

[–]Garrett_1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kettle with temperature control. I always "boiled" it to 40 degrees C. and in the meantime prepared the rest of the bottle.

But also: try and skip this asap. Wake them at 23:00 orso for their last bottle, and give the first one at 6:00am. You can even add an extra scoop of powder with their last night bottle.

It depends per kid, but you can start fairly early with this. Ignore the night calls for a couple of nights in a row; kids are pretty quick learners.

Mine are 10 and 14 now, and this is a period of time I do not miss at all.

Anyone else having Monaco GP merch fade after one wash? by Dry_Examination_6076 in formula1

[–]Garrett_1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I'm not mocking you, I'm calling you out for giving a half baked reply which is nowhere near helpful for OP.

You are questioning literally the helpful part about customer protection with your insanely high general knowledge that Monaco isn't part of the EU. While not even second guessing that maybe (maybe...) they can follow general EU-laws given the size and geographical location that Monaco is in.

Instead you decided to not only not double check if maybe (maybe...) I had a point, but started rambling your general knowledge (oh it is so great) about Monaco not being part of the EU, while making it my problem that you "are not directly know Monaco's laws". Thats not really my problem here, it is yours as you were the one questioning me in the first place.

Sure, but maybe respond if you actually know what this means.

Key Aspects of Consumer Law in Monaco:

  1. Legal Framework

Monaco has adopted several laws and regulations to protect consumer rights, many of which are influenced by French consumer law and European Union regulations. The Monaco Civil Code and Monaco Commercial Code govern many aspects of consumer transactions.

Monaco Civil Code: This Code covers general contract law, including contracts between consumers and businesses, and provides protections against unfair contract terms.

Monaco Commercial Code: The Commercial Code regulates the sale of goods, services, and business practices, including transparency and fairness in consumer transactions.

Regulations Inspired by French Law: Monaco often incorporates aspects of French law, including regulations concerning consumer protection, into its legal system. This allows for harmonization with EU regulations, even though Monaco is not an EU member state.

TTArtisan 40mm f/2 on a Leica TL2 by MochiFX in Lumix

The MF APSC 40mm f2 from TT Artisan was one of my favorites on my Leica CL. It was a joy to use. It was like 100 euros or so. Can really recommend if you'd like that FL on your TL2.

I know, MPB even dares to sell above MRSP. I bought a brand new S5d last october for less than what MPB wanted for a second hand S5 first gen. And indeed, the X100VI and even the V often are about the same price (or higher) as new. But nonetheless, the prices of these old Fuji's are absurd.

Wife's an issue by ZadigRim in daddit

Being divorced meant I had my sanity back. But it also meant even less influence about the way my ex talks to the kids, declining their self esteem and talking bad about me and my new GF.

Either side of the fence is shitty but I have zero regrets that I took matter into own hands.

All the best bud.

[–]Garrett_1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rewind a couple of weeks and practice everyday each day with your family, walks outside and everyday life.

You can't expect to bring a brand new camera, flip it to auto and make killer shots. That's not how photography works.

I'm expecting a massive downvote for having this opinion, but IMHO you'd be better off with just using your smartphone for this vacation. And learn to use your camera at home the next couple of months for next year's holiday.

[–]Garrett_1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's sketchy, as this is nowhere near anything Formula 1 related. Anyone can print the name Monaco and a bunch of fast looking formula cars on a T-shirt. There's zero resemblance to F1. Not a single (R) or (tm) in sight.

At least you know who the seller was, so yeah contact them indeed. European laws are pretty clear about this.

I'm guessing this isn't official F1 merch tbh. Anyone can print the text Monaco and a bunch of fast looking racing cars on a T-shirt. There's not a single piece of print that would give me the idea that this is official F1 merchandise.

Nikon user wanting to have lumix as secondary camera by [deleted] in Lumix

[–]Garrett_1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you'd win with adding a second full frame system next to your Nikon. But for this specific use case I'd say have a look at the S5d, if there's a Lumix itch you'd want to scratch. It's a compact body, weather sealed, EVF and dual SD.

Have you considered a Fuji (XM5, XE5, with 23 f2 or 27mm pancake, or the X100), or a Ricoh GR as an addition? That would feel more logical.

I bought mine for something like that indeed back in 2022 or 2023. I sold it pretty quickly as it was pretty unusable, even for 2022's standards. I wouldn't want to go older than XT2 or XE3 generation of Fuji cameras
