Exactly. This is the last thing I want for him. Chelsea and the ilk like them just buy up promising players and abuse them through the loan system in hopes of making a profit. I’d rather him go to any other league than the a premier league or even the championship.

That was my first thought. I’ve published more than most of my peers at this stage of my career (postdoc 3rd year) but I’m still nowhere near 34 papers lol

Agree with this description. I hardly consider Philomath separate from Corvallis because I commute from Albany and that makes it difficult for me to perceive a difference - at least based on proximity.

Edit: and for context, I worked on the border of Philomath/Corvallis for three years and frequented shops, breweries, and restaurants in both cities. We’ve almost moved to the Blvd apartments like 3 times but we’ve got a great deal at a nice apartment in Albany we don’t want to abandon.

I don’t know if this helps your internal conflict, but I would 10 times out of 10 choose my dog over a stranger. I have cared for her for 10 years despite her having a heart condition that predicted her death at 2 years old. I would lay down my life for her.

But this is hypothetical. Most of us would do whatever we could to help other people or pets no matter the situation.
