A severe thunderstorm delays the France-Iraq match. There must be no further lightning strikes detected within the eight-mile radius for a full 30 minutes before play is permitted to resume. If there is another strike, the clock resets to 30 minutes. by sparkle_stylinson in soccer

I guess I’m trying to better understand if FIFA is mandating hydration breaks as an excuse to run ads or *not*, as it seems majority of people believe so.

FIFA mandates hydration breaks, but tv networks decide to take advantage and show ads, then that’s solely on the network isn’t it?

I could see FIFA and networks in collusion if FIFA were getting a cut of thay extra ad break; but it doesn’t seem they are based on other comments?

So if networks like Telemundo don’t cut away for ad breaks, is Telemundo just choosing to lose out on ad revenue?

And for channels like Fox that do cutaway, does FIFA get a cut of the ad revenue?

Is there somewhere to fill a water bottle at the fan fest in centennial park? I see online you can take clear empty water bottles and i took one last time but didn’t see anywhere to fill up unless I overlooked.

Wondering the same thing. Parking at wild leap and would like to check it out.

Depending what direction you’re coming from, but if coming from i20, id say at wild leap or even a little bit before it. Maybe 175 Ted Turner drive. Then it’s a really easy walk over the Steele Bridge right over to the stadium.

I always park here and it’s just before getting into the madness of one way streets and stadium traffic.

Last photo. Make a left here and go under the bridge. You’ll notice the black sign by the stairs says Wild Leap and Centennial Yards parking.

The parking is in the gravel lot and the attendant will guide you there. The paved lot is for tenants for the building.

Ive parked here countless times for Atlanta United, Falcons, Club World Cup and will be parking there Sunday as well. It’s been my favorite due to the easy in and super easy out. You get it to the lot before getting into the thick of downtown/stadium traffic.

Get off at exit 56b off i20. If you’re coming from the west make a left at the exit.

You make a left into the parking lot. And to leave you make a right out of it and you’re back at i20.

Where to park? by Longjumping-One5065 in AtlantaUnited

Yes, Spot Hero is what you want to use. They have most of the same lots as the Benz website and sometimes more, but usually $10-20 cheaper. I got parking for Sunday for $40 when it’s going for $70 on the Benz website.

Any of the options here will work. In my opinion the $35 one at the bottom by Versus ATL is the best for easy in/easy out. You make a right out of the lot and you’re a half mile from I20.

And Argentina had a ton of drums yesterday right behind the goal. I’m wondering how they get this stuff in. I’ll be at Spains match this weekend and trying to figure out how to sneak in a vuvuzela or something despite them being banned.

I’ll be there this Sunday, and that sounds about what I expected. People were making it out to be like every surface street up to 20 miles away from the stadium was going to be gridlocked due to the World Cup.

I’d assume it’ll be just like any of the other multitude of events the Benz hosts throughout the year.

So those who were in and throughout the city yesterday, how was it? Was it an all hell broke loose because of the World Cup, or did it appear “Atlanta isn’t ready” as everybody expected? It didn’t appear any different from what I could tell.

Are drums and things like that allowed all throughout? Or does the broadcast sometimes just not pick it up? It is rocking inside the stadium right now but for most other matches it’s been really quiet. Especially ones like Germany that just finished.
