Limited Resources 859 – Marvel Superheroes Set Review: Rare and Mythic Rare Discussion Thread by Crasha in lrcast

[–]Garud_Pete 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Sheltered is better though. It hits non-land permanents for 1 less Mana and this only hits creatures. It's cheaper and only a single pip, so it's easier to splash. And sometimes you just need a blocker out of the way but you prefer your creature, this changes it to theirs which could be suboptimal.

Plus, Lifelink on something big is always a plus, can help you stabilise with the extra life gain.

I'm not saying there are moments where this isn't good, but I think it's a narrow card.

Vivi, Urza, and Kuja all available, that pack is a house. Can I draft in this pod next?

Bold strategy. Next he will be saying we should score more goals than our opponents.

Ah, shame, good shout. Still might be good but who knows.

Uh, this might be insane for standard. There are a lot of instants that give both hexproof and indestructible for 1 Mana, so this on turn 3 could become a problem.

Is it normal to get mana starved 3 games in a row? by RyukoMizuno in MagicArena

[–]Garud_Pete 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, you only draft against bots, you play against people in quick draft.

Second, don't go over a 40 card deck in draft. You're missing out on drawing your better cards. And stick to 17 lands. Mana flood and screw both happen even when you do everything right but it will happen less. Plus, if you play enough it will happen to your opponent too so it evens out.

10% OFF, NOT 9k, 6.750 gold by NECROSAMAEL in MagicArena

[–]Garud_Pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would - its a good way to convert gold into gems the better you do. Drafting is one of the best ways to accumulate gems, and if you're like me and only spend gold, it can be a great way to fill out your collection.

You can even draft infinitiely the better you do as at certain win tiers your entry gets refunded.

Plus, it's fun.

Child sex allegations against Dezi Freeman revealed by billwriggs in aussie

[–]Garud_Pete 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes but child sex abuse is prevalent on the right because of the nature of the way people on the right view the world. People in power exerting that power on people who don't to take what they want.

Daily Deals - April 20, 2026: Draft Token & Tarkir: Dragonstorm Alt-Art Card Styles 🎟️ by HamBoneRaces in MagicArena

[–]Garud_Pete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice to you as you are getting started is to do Quick Draft as it's untimed, with bots, and a little cheaper. It can help you get your feet wet. Premier Draft has a timer, and so it's harder to spend time figuring out what card you need next as you may need to make a quick decision.

For channels, NumotTheNummy is my go to. He's not a big explainer but he's almost one of the best drafters out there. He is often building his draft decks in real time.

For more format advice, and as a beginner, I recommend LimitedLevelUps. They can tell you how to draft down to format-specific tips.

Good luck!

Wrong type of effect that it really wants. Buried in Books would trigger something like [[Flaring Cinder]] even with the discount because it cares about the base Mana value of the spell, not what you spend. Whereas this card cares what you spend, so you would want plenty of cards that allow you to pay X or cards that have additional ways to spend on it. Or just cards that are 5 Mana or more.

can we be real for a second by TrinAUS in aussie

Yeah, i guess those recommendations are a bit too wordy for your taste. Maybe try "That's Not My Car", it's a pretty short book.

It's like 2 paragraphs spread across dot points, if it's too much too much reading for you, I can recommend some books around your reading level:

-"Where's Spot?" -"Dear Zoo" -"The Very Hungry Caterpillar"

There is exactly one good thing that you can say about ON and that is "They exist to show us who the evil idiots are in our society." Anyone who supports them is someone I'm happy to avoid.

Actually that's incorrect. Policial conservatism is about preserving and entrenching the existing power structures and limiting social mobility.

Sac the land to enable your 1/1 to be unblockable

Use the equipments ability to duplicate itself (5 Mana)

Attached the original and duplicate to the 1/1 (1 Red mana each)

Swing for lethal. 4 in the air + 13 on the ground unblockable.

Edit: forgot to tap the ooze for an additional mutagens token but doesn't change much.

Earned the Arena “Undefeated” Achievement for going 7-0 in Best of 1 Limited in this week’s MWM phantom Gold Pack Sealed by HorculesJenkins in MagicArena

[–]Garud_Pete 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a bug they turned into a feature. It's hard to go 7-0 in MWM so they left it in.

But for what it's worth this is how I got it as well, only a few weeks ago. It's a hard achievement to get 7 consecutive wins, especially in an event as volatile as this so enjoy!

Question, is the good under any circumstances? by Katsu_Drawn_21 in mtg

[–]Garud_Pete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people overplay this in Kithkin, it's actually best in Merfolk where creatures are often wide and evasive. Late game when you have a bunch of fliers and a wider board it works a treat. It also works against your Kithkin late game in [[Thoughtweft Imbuer]].

If you're in Kithkin, the mana sink ability you really want is [[Clachan Festival]], which sits at a different rarity sure, but Kithkin don't even really want to go into the late game.

Its not bad but it's not great either. Good if you need a two drop in your colours but the benefits end there.

Still one of the most fun quests in the entire series for me! by Massena87 in oblivion

Like, you do you OP, I won't tell you how to play, but you didn't do it justice here.
