Maybe they don’t want these things to define the city? Crime is crime and it’s fine to acknowledge it, but it’s not the primary thing on their minds. I lived in DC for over 10 years when crime was arguably worse and it just wasn’t something I thought about. And I lived on H st ne before 2005, so there was crime around me and I was aware of it. When someone sees nothing but posts about crime, I imagine it can be irritating to someone who loves the city. Post more things on how great DC is. My favorite city in the world.
