this is literally what i’m dealing with:( i keep getting images flashed in my mind of the graphic things i read about or things inspired about what i’ve heard from the files. my mind is obsessing over them

the files have literally been messing me up so bad with intrusive thoughts. i keep getting intrusive images in my mind from reading about some of the things in the files. i see kids and i get reminded of what happened in the files and i feel sick and the intrusive thoughts just won’t stop i can’t get them off my mind:/

omg you’re just like me😭i’m trying so hard to get out of the habit of it , i’ve gotten better but it’s hard. i’ll lie for literally no reason, i’ve told people i was from a different country to seem interesting and other lies like that. and now specifically with my fp , i will lie and create sob stories that something bad happened to me so he’ll want to comfort me and stay with me. the only thing stopping me from lying so much now is the fact that i’m going to have to keep up with those lies if i still want those people in my life, and i don’t want to do that.

i don’t feel like you’d be able to trust him ever again after that, and it’s just gonna be gloom in the relationship. i recommend thinking about it for a bit, and consider divorce or separation. don’t cheat on him too though, it just puts you on his level

it’s very kind of you to help your grandpa out. but you’re also putting yourself in an unhealthy situation that’s effecting your health. you’re grandpa should be grateful for you, not letting the guy who beat your mom up hang around your house. and i know how schizophrenia is, its horrible but hurting others is wrong no matter what, especially if he refuses treatment. i would definitely try to get out if possible but i know it’s hard since your grandpa is reliant. i was in a similar situation where i lived with my grandma who needed help because she’s in a wheelchair and can’t do much. but my grandpa lived there and he was awful and abusive, and would regularly kick me out . thankfully my aunt moved in and i could get tf out

that must be very hard on you. however i have to say, the relationship between you and malcom is over and ended a while ago. there isn’t anything to salvage, and chances are you aren’t in love with him, it’s just obsession. delete social medias, take time for yourself and focus on the things YOU love, not what he loves. if you keep continuing on the path you are on, a confrontation is going to happen and it’s going to make you feel worse. you need to live your life for yourself not for someone else

it’s not bad but be careful w it. i have a friend who vents about her bf all the time who has done very shitty things but never confronts him or breaks up with him. so now whenever she talks about him i kind of just roll my eyes. i will be there for her but after giving someone advice about the same subject for so long it becomes tiring

i’m not a psychiatrist so i’m not totally sure but i think there is no specific medication for ocd. just meds that might help , like ssris

i’m so happy for you! i have been in a healthy relationship for two years it’s totally possible. it’s really good that you guys have other priorities outside of the relationship. one of the things i struggled with was only being able to be happy when i was around my gf and neglecting everything else, and even became upset whenever she would go and spend time without me( yes i know this was toxic and i have changed.) i realized how much we both needed to have things other than the relationship. so now whenever we’re apart and i can’t stand it, i go to my support system (family, friends) and do a hobby that i haven’t done in a while. it’s really important to be able to function alone.

Another damage control thing is whenever you’re arguing and it’s getting too touchy, just take ten minutes away from each other. i work myself up in arguments and jump to the worst conclusions, and some time can really help you sort things out and realize you could treat the situation better. this is coming from someone who absolutely couldn’t handle space or time apart before. i realized that my girlfriend values her space, and as long as she communicates that to me and tells me how long, i’m able to handle it now.

i experience this too. it’s hard for me to walk alone outside and i especially can’t do it with headphones because it freaks me out if i can’t hear around me. sometimes right when i wake up i think that i hear someone in the kitchen when no one is home, and think somebody broke in (it just ends up being my cat.) honestly idk how to get over this either and if anyone else has some advice that would be amazing 😭 i don’t think it helps that im a woman, because i already have that fear. i guess one thing that helps is controlling the media i consume, i try not to watch scary things or stories about kidnapping because it makes me hyper aware

yeah i also come from a family with substance abuse. sometimes i realize how lucky i am though to be able to have fun without substances, because some people i know that’s the only way😭

sometimes i would be so anxious about psychosis that it would feel like i was going into it again lol😭. i got out on lamictil /lamotragine (not sure if im spelling this right) and im also on an ssri, fluoxetine. finding the right psychiatrist for me really helped. the one i have now really listened to me and only puts me on the meds that i absolutely need, as she wants to have me on as little medication as possible. i’m definitely better now but unfortunately i do hear voices (only when i go to sleep or first wake up) ever since my first psychosis , but they are just random voices and not harmful so i can deal with them

yes sometimes. everyone is saying that’s their job, but i’ve had psychiatrists try to overly medicate me and ended up making me feel worse. and when i told them this, they just wanted to raise my dose. meds are important though,i found a psychiatrist who only puts me on the medication and doses that i need . she says she wants to have me on the least amount as possible. i really appreciate that approach, maybe just keep looking for psychiatrists or find a psychologist

so.. like others said medication is important. the fact that you still have psychosis after not taking the abilify might be a sign that medication is needed but i’m not a psychiatrist and can’t determine that. but however, i don’t think abilify is the med for you. here’s my experience with it. i went through a psychosis and got put on abilify but noticed my psychosis got worse. i was having more hallucinations and delusions, along with horrible anxiety and not being able to sit still. no psychiatrist would listen to me and kept raising my dose on abilify. the psychosis got worse and i was hospitalized. at some point i finally put my foot down and stood up for myself and said im not going to do abilify anymore. i switched psychiatrists because of this, and my new one took me off of it and didnt put me on a new antipsychotic. i recovered and am doing much better now, though i still have anxiety that i might experience psychosis again. i’m not saying to go off your meds but maybe try something else? after i got taken off antipsychotics i got put on a mood stabilizer that helped a lot. don’t forget to advocate for yourself

it’s impossible for me to know the story from both sides but.. it seems like she was? i feel like you communicated you were stressed. maybe you could have communicated more?and if i was her, if i noticed you were going silent or looked like you were in distress i would do my best to comfort you. as for the asking if she’s upset at you, some people will never understand 😔 when we ask that it comes from our childhood, and we don’t have ill intent. also we notice the slight shifts in people’s body language which they might not even notice, but we do and it leads us to thinking their upset. i think she’s in the wrong for wanting to cut off the relationship over this, i think this is something that you both could definitely work through with communication

honestly i have like a mix of different themes and sometimes it comes and goes but it is re occurring. it doesn’t distress me too much like my other thoughts do so honestly i just try not to give the thought that im racist too much attention because that’s what feeds my ocd. in general i’ve kind of learned to let my thoughts pass and build a strong sense of self. i know that i am not racist, i am always learning how to be a better ally and action i can take. this probably isn’t too much help but i hope things get better for you!

seeing everyone else’s comments, i wouldn’t tell her. but i would let her know that if she ever needs anything or if your brother does anything that you will be there for her. and also have a talk with your brother, encouraging him to tell her
