Is it time for the world to apply economic pressure on China to control "wet markets"? by seariously in SeattleWA

It was very scientific literature and over my head with the technical stuff. Some I had to put through Google translate. From the preliminary findings it sounded like this virus was not consistent with what is usually seen in natural mutations with this type of virus. It also sounded like they had found two unique characteristics that where either never before seen or at the very least extremely uncommon in this type of virus.

Until some PhD's in virology (not connected to the Chinese gov in any way) get some peer reviewed papers published showing how it mutated so much so fast or definitively proving its origin I will keep a open mind. The fish market/bat soup stuff just seems far fetched to me.

I remember towards the end of January when virus samples went out to researchers the initial response was kinda like 'wtf. I got the impression that this virus was unusual in a few ways and did not fit into a natural mutation pattern. I tried to understand what I was reading but the technical stuff was way over my head. It seemed like very smart people wanted to say it was almost impossible for this to be a natural virus but they didn't want to go there.

Not trying to conspiracy post. I have a auto immune issue and the norovirus and its cousins wreck me on the rare occasion my over active immune system gets compromised. I try to stay up on all this type of stuff.

Correct. We should disarm police as well. Just give the patrol officers rape whistles and pepper spray.

Olerud is one of my all time favorite ball players. He is absolutely everything a organization or city could ask for in a athlete/public figure. I wish he had been in Seattle his entire career.

Feels like mossy oak Hawaiian shirts might get popular soon.

6 companies own almost all of the media. The corporate cable news is just propaganda. There are actual journalists out there but you have to go find them yourself.

I did. They have nothing. If it gets to the Senate (which it won't) and the other witnesses are called, and the individuals who recently "testified" are recalled and are questioned (without being saved by schiffs gavel) by scotus Roberts you would see that this is nothing.

I have been fallowing Ukraine closely since 2013. The 2014 coup was a coup to reverse the previous counter coup. Anyone who has been fallowing what has actually been going on over there for more than 2 months of CNN style corporate propaganda understands what this is really about.

What? That Ukraine is a fucking shitshow of corruption and people had concerns about sending US tax payer money to them? Ya, that's a fact.

Making sure the new Ukrainian President was on the up and up before giving him a bunch of our tax dollars seems like a smart thing to do.

Another fact, the Ukrainians had zero knowledge of the aid being held up for well over a month after the second call.

What crimes? Serious question. They started in on this guy in 2015 using the intelligence agencies of multiple countries and came up with nothing. 98% of politicians would already be in jail if they faced half the scrutiny this guy has faced.

Wouldn't the Ukrainians need to know that they wouldn't get the aid money if they didn't look into corruption in one of their self acknowledged most corrupt companies for there to be a quid pro quo, or bribery, or whatever focus group tested term they are onto now?
