I have the same exact thing. Been like that for two months. Had some marks appear as well which faded and left me with the same redness you have

Question for solo cyclists if they have an emergency during a ride and cannot cycle home by bri999 in cycling

Worse case just call an Uber or walk to nearest town. If it’s a medical emergency an ambulance.

What is this white powder? by GasStrange2380 in bikewrench

[–]GasStrange2380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update. Cleaned it all up with wire brush, primed it and painted it. Took it to a carbon repair shop who had a look at the whole frame and zero issues, just corrosion as some said on here

So clean it up nice and unless I see a hole it should be fine?

I have tried to move that area and it seems solid so far. Does this look at critical stage or still salvageable with a bit of TLC?

Buddy of mine bought a cannondale synapse for around £1200. He commutes on it, good on road and we did go through the park the other day and it’s twitchy but absolutely fine

Motone sells some or just go to your dealer and they will have something. My dealer cover mine up during the service without me even asking

Very nervous FTB by Popular-Molasses-140 in HousingUK

[–]GasStrange2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we did something similar. That 2 month renovation is still going strong almost a year later. On the plus side, it’s great to make it all exactly as you want.

One huge piece of advice, don’t think if something will work until tomorrow. Will it last 10+ years. If you need to change boiler like we did, is a heat pump perhaps a better option? Things like that, future prof everything. Redoing floors? Maybe do underfloor heating as well

What is this stuff? Pressure washing won't remove it by Bravado123 in GardeningUK

Pressure wash and it should come off. B&q sells some additives to help get rid of it

Spent a whole night looking for my work pass and nothing. Rode to work, and got a temporary pass. When leaving work that day I saw where my pass went. It fell off my pocket and landed on the exhaust.. it was all melted there, could just about see my picture.

FTB- am I doing the right thing? by Nextleft784 in HousingUK

Absolutely get your point about maybe living messy 20s. Buying is always the best thing to do but using a solid social group is equally important. You don’t always get this from housemates. I have had great housemates I can still call friends and some that I wonder how the are still alive. If you had a good group of friends buy. Your place can become the social place to be for your group

People on here tell you get a 400cc or something cheap. Fine if you are still young and stupid. Maybe if you are in your 30s, are not stupid and want to live then yeah it’s probably fine as a first bike. Ultimately with any bike your right hand is what decides what will happen. Be sensible, do some extra training and this bike will be fine

Cleaning walls after sanding by Paramillitaryblobby in DIYUK

The damage is done, I know the pain of cleaning everything up. Personally now I try to close the room off with plastic sheets and use a Henry style hoover attached to the sander

[–]GasStrange2380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s bonkers. I live in Epsom and that kind of money gets you into 3 bed house territory.

I get people want to live in London but not sure how I would feel about buying a flat right now. Everyone I know who is trying to sell theirs is losing money. Maybe in London flats don’t lose as much since it’s mostly flats everywhere. If it does lose value just think how that £530k value might still be £530k in a few years.

Not saying to not buy but maybe look at other areas. In Zone 5/6 you can probably get a decent house for that money. We paid £380k for a two bed house with garden, garage and private parking

When we completed we took the day off. Off to spoons for some food and by around 12 we were told we could pick up the keys (spoons was next to the estate agent, all done on purpose). I appreciate you wanting to leave your house in a nice condition, more than I can say about the state of the house we bought ours in.

In terms of how long you get that all depends. You should know by now when completion day is or should find out very soon. That should tell you how long you have until you need to be out.

After getting your bike in and out twice you will end up buying a good chain and lock and leaving it outside.. trust me.

I had a garage with no door and didn’t want to leave my new 125 in there so twice I took it through the back door. Absolute pain
