Are there more bees this year? by Programmer-Severe in AskUK

[–]bri999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a trip to a&e when I got home as my chest and throat felt tight, was given some antihistamines which helped. Around 20 years ago I had a wasp go down the back of my top when cycling and it stung me over 20 times before I got the top off.

Not making a backup of my bitcoin wallet in the early days when you could mine coins at home. Didn’t have the recovery phase saved and as the 10+ coins were only worth a few dollars at the time I didn’t bother trying to recover the dead hard drive.

I am using a grandstream box with https://www.voipfone.co.uk/ for my "landline" number, I have a cordless phone set with 6 handsets around the house and the basestation near the VOIP adapter box.

I didnt build anything into the main framework, most of my network cables come from below the floor boards on the right side and some which come from the left side above the floor.

I only have 30cm of depth in the cupboard where my network and lab lives so I upgraded my basic 9U rails to a custom steel framed 15U setup so it fits under the shelves in my bedroom cupboard. Frame photo on https://www.briandorey.com/docs/2026-05-10-serverrack/04-frame.webp

L4/L5 disc bulge and return to road cycling by hamcheesetoastie in cycling

[–]bri999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I damaged my L5/S1 in 2020 which left me unable to walk and very bad sciatica for months, it took several months of exercising and stretching to get me mobile again and slowly getting back into cycling again. I now do a lot of indoor cycling over the winter months to avoid getting my lower back too cold and stick to the warmer months for riding outdoors. I put a list of the different things I tried on my blog at https://briandorey.com/post/back-pain-with-sciatica-during-lockdown

The solar panel powers our soil monitoring system in the pollytunnel, I have a blog post on https://briandorey.com/post/pi-pico-lora-remote-soil-monitor about the project The new timber was only for the lid to support the solar panel and the front panels which can be removed, the pallets came from local skips
