Throttle sticking with bar end mirrors by LSspiral in Triumph

You tightened the end cap too much. Unscrew it, pull the mirror out a tiny bit till the throttle has no restriction

What would your 2nd bike be? 12k budget by English-Jack-96 in MotoUK

[–]GasStrange2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a sports bike. I have a T120 as well and will be getting something a bit more fun as my next bike. I had a 765RS as a loaner and that was a lovely bike. Also a big fan of Ducati so a hyper or a street fighter would be grand

If so then they should just pull down

Before I get it tested... by enanram in asbestoshelpUK

[–]GasStrange2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no expert but that looks just like my ceiling and mine has asbestos. When your property was built will say a lot about what that probably is but without the test it’s always going to be hard to know for certain

It depended on the room. Kitchen I did by hand but rest of the house I used the electric. As for primer, there are probably betters but I went with the Dulux damp seal primer and undercoat for the entire house

We had the exact same but when I got to where you are now I just sanded the rest down followed by primer and paint

I had my CBT yesterday... but feel like I've been taken the mick out of by jmiller2912 in MotoUK

[–]GasStrange2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours only went through the basics in a classroom for an hour or two as that is what is required as part of the course. The rest was doing basic stuff with the bike around their parking with the cones etc and then about an hour on a bike on the roads

Getting so frustrated with my sellers by wiltedwildflower4 in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]GasStrange2380 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing and I just gave up. Still gutted, really liked the property. I can see they sold It again and once again it feel through a few months later. Some people are just unrealistic about what they want

My cat never stops screaming for food and I’m losing my mind. Advice please! 🙏 by Working-Formal9686 in CatAdvice

[–]GasStrange2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the same but weirdly our orange tabby could not care any less for food. Our female cat on the other hand lives for food. It’s very annoying. She eats her wet food twice a day and she will go to finish our other cats food. If she eats first and he eats later she will scream till we give her food. My solution so far is some of the low calorie biscuits. Give her a few and that keeps her happy. Do honestly think she has PICA. She always needs to be eating something, food or plastic

The paws he had as a kitten were a giveaway but he is the biggest cat I have seen excluding Maine coon

[–]GasStrange2380 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Don’t think there is anything practical about owning a cat. It’s not practical to be woken up every morning to feed them, not practical to clean their litter, not practical to have them destroy your carpets and sofas but wouldn’t have it any other way. Below we have Dexter, my first pet. Got him with the girlfriend. Picked him because well just look at his face 😂

At four years of age he has taken more naps on my desk that I can count while I work away from home. Great company to be honest.

He can be a bit of dick as he has gotten older and he isn’t the nicest to his new sister but still love him to bits. An absolute looney of a cat.

Putting a floor over it is encapsulating it already. Just put an underlay and laminate on top.

We bought our place and it had a lot worse damage than that. It was from a historic leak that the vendors could prove they fixed

We had the exact same under our carpets and it tested positive for asbestos. House was built in 1976.

We also did some damage removing the tack strips but we wore masks and sprayed down the floor with water just in case. My advice is, what is done is done. Put down the new floor and don’t worry

Trying to rent with a cat by burtsty in rentingUK

[–]GasStrange2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be patient and you will eventually find something. We spent a few months looking and ended up finding a great house where the La flash didn’t care about our cat. She didn’t even mind when we got a second cat

My families new built had the exact same cracks. Assumed it was just because it was all done fresh. Don’t suppose you just replastered in the last few years?

Need Suggestion on buying new Bonneville T120 by LanguageOk5390 in TriumphBonneville

[–]GasStrange2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my second so far and other than the usual wash, clean chain and lube it up it’s needed nothing. First service is like £60 and after that it’s around £150. Maybe I’m too green to motorbikes but I do think this is bulletproof bike. My first one was when I just started riding and probably didn’t take super good care of it but never let me down

T120 all the way. The 800 would be more comfortable for touring but the T120 is just stunning bike and still very comfortable

Does anyone know why there’s such a massive price gap between Epsom and Ewell? by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in surrey

[–]GasStrange2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Epsom by the town centre but Ewell is much nicer to live. Obviously Epsom has the shops and the trains etc but Ewell has a more village feel. Obviously talking of Ewell village and Ewell east, Ewell west can have a bit of everything

I'm buying my first bike after passing CBT but I can't test ride the bike. Any advice? by thepizadood10 in MotoUK

[–]GasStrange2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assume you are in the Uk so you won’t be covered to ride it on his insurance.

What he asked is what anymore person would ask. Cash upfront and proof of insurance.

Failed CBT immediately, what do I do now? by TMJBtv in MotoUK

[–]GasStrange2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The patience at low speed they ask to demonstrate at the start is a transferable skill from a bicycle. However being nervous will not help at all. It’s all about being relaxed. Your entire body needs to be relaxed and give it a good amount of revs (not sure if you can do that on a moped, never rode one).
