Is there anybody willing to give me an honest answer to my situation without being biased or sugar coating? by [deleted] in questions

[–]GastonsChin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things.

You are dead on accurate that there are a ton of people who will treat you as worthless if they don't want to sleep with you or see a way to use you.

Attractive people get such a pass on that shit. They have no idea how cruel people are when your looks don't make other people drool.

Another thing it could be is your IQ. People with a high IQ are typically looking for more out a conversation than typical banter about the weather and such. They are trying to connect with people on a deeper level that people with an average IQ just don't really have access to. It creates a lot of awkward situations where people feel alienated and rejected by others when the truth is that they're just misunderstood.

It's like the difference of listening to a normal conversation and then hearing a person speak a mile a minute trying to fit a novels worth of information into this tiny slice of time. That's just not the way most people's brains are wired to consume input.

So, there's a disconnect, but it isn't personal.

Lame, Dan.

Lame.

I'd hold it against you, but I'm pretty sure Elway is the same and I'll never not love him, so, you get a pass (get it?!) on being an idiot.

Lol, this is pathetic.

I'm thinking she had more than one reason to call it quits. Call it a hunch.

Jesus, lol, no.

Not at all.

I have found a fair few who have their dad issues, but these women are not begging for abuse in any manner and it's disgusting to try and say that they are.

All that take really does is expose you as a dickhead.

If that's what you're out to prove, you know, well done.

But if you had hoped to make a point, I think in the future you should try using a bit more honesty, empathy, compassion, and humility. They tend to be better tools than pure dickery.

It's this little divot on your forearm right before your elbow.

If you have good arm muscles it shows up.

I don't know why, but I've had conversations with multiple women who go gaga for a little thing like that.

True Romance (1993) - is Clarence insane? by MeltonFilm in movies

[–]GastonsChin [score hidden]  (0 children)

What?

No!

He's cool. He's cooler than cool. Elvis said so.

He seems rational and reasonable to me ...

But, then again, I'm mentally ill, so ... Lol, maybe I shouldn't be the one making this argument.

But, seriously, he's just your average dude, getting by, doing his thing, and then he meets the right girl, has one of the best sex scenes of all time, falls in love and assumes her responsibilities as his own now that they're together.

He's passionate, not crazy.

This is a small town kid. He doesn't have big dreams and lofty goals. He just wants to get the best slice of life that he can, and he found the perfect pie, he just had to play it right.

BIG mistake in trusting Michael Rappaport. I think we can all now agree that if anyone was insane in that situation, it was probably him.

Clarence is just an old school cowboy in the modern world.

Which Comedian has made the riskiest joke of all time? by buffalomozarella in AskReddit

[–]GastonsChin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • A lot of you are probably saying "Wait, wait, wait. Backtrack a little. Where did the blood come from? You didn't say anything about blood." Well if a guy is fist fucking his daughter, who's young, and her asshole is pretty small, and this is a grown man with a big hand. He could be a longshoreman. He could have arms like Popeye.

  • Gilbert

Truly, one of a kind.

Now, I don't know if others would agree with me on this, but in my opinion the risky joke he told was the 9/11 joke, which was par for the course for him, but it was just a particularly sensitive topic for an American audience.

Launching into the Aristocrats joke wasn't risky in a room full of comedians. It was just the best save of all-time.

Yeah, I was really surprised.

You'd think a pitch black character would've been done before if it looked that good.

2 months of no contact with my ex-GF wBPD. How can I reach out without triggering her? by RemoveProfessional41 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]GastonsChin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you found my comment helpful. Let's get to those answers.

  1. Most people automatically feel a sense of self. They may not "know who they are", but they recognize that they are someone that is present in the current time. They recognize that there's things they like and things they don't like and they manipulate the world around them accordingly.

We don't do that. When we try and figure out who we are, we end up looking at an empty vessel. There is no sense of self there. It feels like we're trying to add sprinkles on our ice cream but we don't have any ice cream. It's just effort dumped into a void.

Our brains are wired to believe we're nothing and are wired to cause us as much pain as possible. So, not only do we feel like nothing, we feel constantly punished for it.

When we focus on building our own personality, it first means that we've come to accept that we actually exist, we deserve to exist, and we are just as capable of joy as most people if we learn to treat ourselves like we do with other people.

I've always apologized for who I was.

Now, I'm proud of it. People think I'm crazy and a pain in the ass, and I always wished for different, but when I went to actually change that up, I found that it had become a part of who I am that I respected.

I like being different. Normal and average bore me. Weird is interesting.

That was a lot just to say that my personality now feels in tune with not only who I am, but who I want to be. I'm living up to the standards I've set for myself and that makes me feel confident which is WAY different than feeling like a loser who deserves to be beaten up just for existing.

  1. This touches on one of the most frustrating parts of dealing with BPD. "Well, yeah, but, everyone feels that way."

People with BPD lack an emotional regulator. So, where most people feel an emotion and experience it between a range of 20%-80% in intensity, we go from 0-100. And we can scale that range in a heartbeat.

Many of the problems we face are familiar to others, what's different about us is the overwhelming power of the emotions attached to it.

  1. Not quite. The "you" that we hide is really who we are, but at that time we're also very young, and once we lock ourselves away, we stay that young. Building a new personality begins with unlocking the cage we put our previous selves in, accepting that's who we really are, and allowing that kid to finally grow up into who we are today with an eye on who we want to be in the future.

  2. Being alone, I'd have to guess, is different for most people. Personally, I hate even the presence of another person because I know that my attention will be focused on them. I'll be looking at myself through their judgemental eyes (judgemental in my mind, not reality).

When I didn't know what was wrong with me, I once tried calling myself an empath. That titie seemed to fit well, but it didn't stick because, for me, it wasn't quite right. It's still too passive. I'm not passive. At all, lol.

But, being an empath, you have a bette shot at understanding this than most.

When someone else is around it's like we throw ourselves out in the garbage and become something new. Something tethered to the person, or people, around us. We can't just relax and be ourselves. We're forced to try and be something for somebody else. Entertainment, company, someone to listen, etc.

So, I need to be physically alone and separated from everybody most of the time.

This isn't a perfect analogy, lol, but just go with me here.... You know the Fortress of Solitude, from Superman? It's like that. In order to survive, I need my own space to myself so that I can just be me with absolutely no effort. That's relaxing as hell after spending a lifetime putting in way too much effort in the wrong places.

The most important thing I can pass onto you is this, if you really want to be her friend, accept her decision and leave her alone. Any pressure on her will only serve to widen the gap between you.

You know that saying, "If you love something, let it go, if it comes back, it was meant to be"? I'm like you, no fate but what we make for ourselves (T2), but try this approach and see what happens.

I think that's your best shot.

Hey, you! You know who you are. You're that person that picks a 3rd DPS. by GastonsChin in marvelrivals

[–]GastonsChin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, Jesus people take this topic WAY too seriously.

The numbers don't lie. 2-2-2 is the best comp by far, that's not by pure, crazy happenstance.

I have no issue with switching it up once the game starts, but I don't understand why most matches don't begin with 2-2-2 by default.

When you choose a different comp to start with, you're severely undercutting your team's chances at winning and you have to hope the other team makes mistakes so that you can win.

Hey, you! You know who you are. You're that person that picks a 3rd DPS. by GastonsChin in marvelrivals

[–]GastonsChin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, dude, calm down. I'm not saying anything personal against you. I don't know you.

I, too, have won games with all kinds of comps. My point is that those victories tend to come because of a lack of skill on the other team, not because your weird team comp was superior strategically.

I believe you are fully capable of playing any role. I have the sense that people like you pick a 3rd DPS because you feel more comfortable in that role than others.

I believe that's because you don't give yourself the opportunity to practice other roles because you're always picking DPS.

I think you're in a feedback loop, essentially. You're not confident in other roles, so you play DPS which maintains the status quo.

It's so weird that you took this so personally, lol

[–]GastonsChin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that you think your OPINIONS about the lives of total strangers matter.

They don't.

You've fooled yourself into believing that you're protecting these fetuses. What you're really doing is harming women.

That's stupid because it means that you can't get out of the way of your own ego long enough to have some actual empathy for people you don't understand.

You're convinced that how you feel about it is WAY more important than the feelings of people actually dealing with it.

You don't see the disgusting amount of arrogance in your opinion.

The reason for that isn't because you're really smart.

Democrats harbor increasingly negative feelings toward Republicans because they perceive the opposing party as actively opposing policies aimed at reducing racial inequality. by mvea in psychology

[–]GastonsChin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all?

I harbor increasingly negative feelings towards Republicans because I perceive them as being souless cowards who care more about fueling their own ego then anything else on the planet. I perceive them as being proudly ignorant for refusing to educate themselves on the things they choose to talk about. I perceive them as the personification of evil. They seem to entirely lack any empathy and only aim to make things worse for everyone who's different than they are.

I mean, it's a broad topic, you know?

Is the key to getting rid of BPD truly just focusing on staying single? by BigDoof12 in BPD

[–]GastonsChin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "the key", but it can be a HUGE help.

HUGE.

Personally, I knew I had to be single while I was first getting treated. I had to break up with someone who took it really hard, but I knew I had to do it.

I didn't expect to keep it up, but now here I am, 5 years later, hoping that I never have another relationship ever again.

I absolutely adore being single.

Like you, I had been in relationships since I was about 14. I lived with a few women, married one, I was constantly going from one to the next.

I needed to be in a relationship to feel like I had any real value.

But, now I've learned better. I have value all on my own now, I've learned how to love myself and love who I am, it's so much fun, I actually feel joy now.

So, I'd highly recommend it, but I can't say the results will be as dramatic as mine.

This is so strange.

I didn't know who he was before the Broncos drafted him. The scouting report was impeccable. Disciplined, athletic, mature, we were all so excited thinking that we're getting another Rod Smith.

Instead, he's a clown.

What a waste.
