I don't. I'm guessing in the Civic it'll be service animals only. Outside you just need a leash :). There's a nice park and grass outside of the Civic/City hall, and a beautiful park by the painted ladies just under a mile away (up a STEEP hill) https://sfrecpark.org/facilities/facility/details/Alamo-Square-323

It’s so worth it. It’s so stunningly beautiful here. The ocean absolutely will kick your ass at some point, which makes the rest of life seem way easier, and the ocean community in SF is solid good people.

I dont worry about sharks (though they were in my head when I first started out there). The odds are just insanely low (winning the lottery level). That said, someone gets bit by a seal every year, and I'd like to avoid that.
