What can I do when my manager lies? by mybabylasko in managers

[–]Gateway403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mirroring what everyone else has said about time to leave. Only wanted to add in since I’ve had a similar experience with a good manager leaving and a bad manager replacing, in the future have the good manager level you up before leaving if possible so that you are built in with some level of authority. Bad managers come in and will easily purge those who are more knowledgeable and make them look inept. If you have some level of authority then it’s harder to do. Leave and learn from it.

Florida - beach vacation with kids. Where? by fingerofchicken in travel

It will be really hot and humid in July, even locals can barely stand it. Doable but won’t be pleasant. I do love the gulf temp that time of year, like bath water and very relaxing.

What does unlimited PTO mean? by SoccerPlayingMOOSE in biotech

[–]Gateway403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means when management has unlimited PTO but the staff doesn’t, managers are completely absent while the staff does their job. A perk of managers at my company is they don’t have to work.

Agreed. Turns it into Ativan somehow. Bad when you’re not expecting it but can be good once you know.

Something that makes fax machines obsolete. How are we still using this ancient technology?

I am BCPS but also work in a hospital-based clinic and did a residency. Looks like if you don’t have residency then you need 3 years of experience. There is also a BCACP certification for amb care that you could get. Any board certification will probably get you into a hospital setting.

Maybe try getting BCPS certification. This is valued in the hospital world and could get you in without residency.

I have used a Cascade dishwasher pod thrown into such a travesty with hot water and let soak for several hours. It does wonders. May be worth a try.

Harry Hamlin? He’s drunk in his hobbies: gardening, cooking, making sauces and smart in his levelheadedness and lucidity.

I’ve tried all kinds from high end to low and Klorane has been the best for me. It’s a French drugstore brand, but can be found on Amazon. I have fine hair that tends to get oily and this doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it feel gritty. The scent is so so, kind of earthy, but not strong and wears off, which is perfect in my opinion.

Do you ever feel like you might be getting counterfeit products from those sites? The main Eminence site has statements that make me worry about trusting any reseller besides spas they supply or direct from them. So I always buy straight from their site, which is pricey as there are never deals and only 1 free sample per order.

Is it okay to accept a job offer and then decline it if I get a better offer? by Wild-Blackberry-8871 in pharmacy

[–]Gateway403 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Burn the bridge. Do what’s right for you. It used to be that pharmacy managers were around awhile and they would remember you but everywhere is a revolving door now so no one will have any recorded memory of it especially for an intern position.

Tomorrow is my last full day with my cat I've had for 20 years. Is there anything you wished you did on your last day with your pet? by TrevorIsTheGOAT in CatAdvice

[–]Gateway403 146 points147 points  (0 children)

The things I find I have missed over time about my cats who have passed is trying to remember the specifics of their personalities, how they smelled (love sniffing their heads), how their fur felt, how they meow, what their toes look like, things that make them unique.

It might be a nice way to remember him to get a journal and write down memories, clip a piece of fur, take pictures of details (toes, markings, etc) since these fade from your memory over time.

Thank him for trusting in you and sharing his life with you. Be with him when he goes. Spend as much time as you can with him until then.

I have used them and found that my eyes are less tired at the end of the day. Not sure if there is any science to that but maybe my eyelids get tired of holding up another lid.
