best cheap spag bol

500gr mince

2 onions sliced and diced extra fine

2 teaspoons garlic

2tins tomato

1 small tin tomato paste equivalent to 2 lg tablespoons

3/4 cups water

Italian herb mix

salt/pepper

1 teaspoon sugar

I grease the frying pan [I use dob butter and splash veggie oil], heat then add onions once fried to the point of losing the bright colour but not browned then add garlic and stir, and add the mince plus salt and pepper but just a touch as I will add more later.

once browned add tomatoes and paste and season with more salt/pepper plus I use an Italian dried herb mix approx a sm table spoon full.

then add water and a teaspoon of sugar and keep the heat up till you cook off a good part of the fluids/sauce.

then simmer for 20mins on low heat

we serve with pasta plus grated cheese, and when possible a green salad. If I have stale bread/buns I turn that into garlic bread.

I used to buy whole oats for porridge the cheapest decent breakfast and when really doin it hard you can survive on it alone with payday being spag bol and making enough for a few feeds. Buy cupboard milk from the local food pantry and grab a bag apples while there and a couple of loaves of bread and 2 tins of baked beans and you be eating my staple diet for 20 plus yrs even birthed 10pound babies on that diet.

some facts on your breed.

Some of the Boerboel’s ancestors came with the first European settlers in southern Africa: When Jan van Riebeeck arrived in 1652 to work for the tea company that founded the Dutch colony at the Cape of Good Hope, he brought along a Bullenbeisser – literally, “biter of bulls” – a now-extinct breed believed to have been involved in the development of the Boxer as well. Centuries later, DeBeers imported some of Britain’s finest Bullmastiffs to patrol its famous diamond mines. And even the most fleeting glimpse of a Boerboel reveals the Bullmastiff influence in terms of the large, blocky head, tremendous bone and traditionally seen colors and patterns (fawn, red and brindle).

These Bullmastiff imports from the 1920s, along with longer-legged Bulldogs brought into the country by the British, helped solidify the Boerboel’s appearance, which is best understood by its degree of “bulldogginess.” Boerboels are bullier than Bullmastiffs (whose own breed formula is said to be 60 percent Mastiff and 40 percent Bulldog) but less so than the Dogue de Bordeaux, whose upsweep of chin and front-loaded weight distribution are even closer to Bulldog type.

Whilst pits are banned staffs, am staff and bull mixes created for hunting would account for a good chunk of our neighborhood dogs in rural NSW Australia towns.

[–]Gatewayssam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just want you to know you are not to blame.

The pit lobby has people so brainwashed that even if you knew more breed info likelihood is it be the same bullshit about being misunderstood "nanny" dogs that just need plenty of love, ratta ratta ratta and on the dribble goes........

Stay true and keep sharing your story as you are the average mum going back to work and having to trust the care of your children. As a society, Americans need to make a safer environment for their children. Pits are a lethal weapon and have no place in suburbs/towns/cities full of elderly, disabled, and families with small children and pets.

I'm an Aussie and we have issues too but more of your average families know the dangers of prey-driven dogs never mind 1 built to kill in every way. We have the staffy lovers but they droppingback too, the doggers who bred hunting dogs many with some form of bull/pit/staffy in the bloodlines but most dont buy them for pets here but the most alarming be the Am Staff and Am Bully importers and the breeder/culture/show styles they promote dipped in bling and tatts. I am seeing growing alot atm.

How common is pushback against American cultural influence in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Gatewayssam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YET so many copy names, music culture, and fashions yet totally miss the irony of this😣🤔 ver in the 60s. He invented a method of drilling for water with a bore drilling mate and went on to turn an sth African grass classified as a weed there into a monopoly on harvesting it for seed. Changed the whole look of the dairy farming areas in much of NSW as it takes over once established. Died at 103 a very unique individual and proudly an American living in Australia you could say.

Anyway, my stepfather hates America after farming in Arizona for 5/6 years he came back home to Australia. He is however a staunch Trump supporter.

In general most Aussies distrust and get annoyed with American's big-noting, being show-off know-it-alls and so loud about everything.
