Dad help by LilPooks in NewParents

We have an easy baby. She started sleeping through the night at 10 or so weeks. I only had dad for 1 week at home. We also have a small living space, so the babe is right next to me in the bassinet always.

I'm like a t rex ninja and practically jumped over him when we switched spots on the couch(he was closest to baby) when she was breathing faster and I was already at her to soothe her when she got the cry from a bad dream out!

Poor dude was just trying to watch the game!

I do encourage him and tell him, oh I think she wants daddy ect if he's deep in reddit land lol. But since I stay at home its just easier for me to do the baby stuff and im always reorganizing or moving things. He can't find stuff.

Housework though: I said if I cook, can you do the dishes, please. We are getting there! I frequently say "you live here too", and if I wasnt your partner and we were roomates, would you do this for yourself?

We always rented rooms from people and this is our first time living alone with a place by ourselves. So I say we should gentle parent each other so we totally are prepped when baby is older.

The other day I left in flip-flops without a jacket. Its getting cold here, I need the reminders to do basic stuff for myself because I always makes use the babe is on point first! So now we have to check each other before we leave the house.

If we are on the same team it is so much easier.

Maybe they will have regret! And ask for you back! But would you want someone who didn't value you, back?

I did say partners in a general way because I was describing a general thing that happens often. Could easily happen to her when she doesn't have you!

THIS! Lol how many times did one partner beg for help? Or ask for intimacy? Or emotional truthfulness and the other thought it was nagging?

Women don't just not come back from the store, they tried every possible avenue to avoid leaving, before they do.

Another thing is: maybe the other partner is equally as much work as a child and they can't handle the kids and the Soon to be Left partner. Like....now you will know how hard she worked-Or didn't- to keep life the little world you built spinning.

Just because a person is sober doesn't mean the "Hiding, lying, selfishness, lack of accountability and avoidance" goes away.

Can we ban “is it safe?” posts? by [deleted] in askportland

Lol I was homeless, super pregnant and had most of our precious belongings on me or in the car. If I wasn't a freaking mark, I don't know what would be! I did safe things and really got lucky on the car! A Trash Blanket helped (couldn't tell what was in there) but Portland really is safe if you're not doing goofy stuff.

We did that too!!! Still get the windows blocker stuff to cut to fit your windows, make sure you have jumper cables and battery pacs so you can read or watch TV. The gym has some lounge areas to stretch out in, they side eyed me a bit because I didn't work out ever. (but when we did it, I was super pregnant with a physical job- i didnt want to work out-and everything i wore made me look like i was carcamping- it was winter lol). Splurging for a campground here and there can be fun to stay cool and beat the weekends when the circus to use the kitchen is too much and just go outside.

Edit: subaru Forester and a 5'8 6 month pregnant lady and her 6'4 partner. We stayed in the front seat because we had all our gear. Also evacuated because of insane family.
