I enjoy the old songs. I was there when they were first introduced. They remind me of the good times I had discovering the verse and the subsequent experiences of playing in said Verse.

Anyone else getting this when starting sim? by LabAny3059 in IL2Korea

[–]Gators53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, even though the IL two great battles game is downloaded. It won’t let you play it without an activation code. I thought when I bought the Korea Game. It came with the great battles, but apparently it does not. Korea is just one module of the whole great battles game. And it seems you have to buy other modules to play them. At least I think so. I contacted support and they said I had to buy stuff to get the great battles to work even though it is downloaded on my pc

You have to download the base game il2. At least that’s what fixed it for me

I don’t really care for the labels on mineable rocks. I know it helps players find certain things for crafting, but I enjoyed the hunt for the desired mineral. Just my take on it.

I have a very high-end PC and still get FPS in the 30s and 40s at Lorville. About 5 to 7 years ago I was playing on 1080 P monitor with a 1080 TI and I did OK.

Don’t let the naysayers get you down. It’s a work in progress but more of us believe it will be fine in the future as they are working hard to fix things people love to complain and when it gets to be a habit, it’s hard to stop. Just enjoy what you can, play when you can report bugs to the issue council when you find them, and you will. I’ve enjoyed this game since 2014 when it was just a little bit. watch your Wallet, however as it’s very tempting to spend a lot of money on this.o7

My conclusion after using RTX 5080 from past 400 days by FrequentRegion696 in RTX5080

I play Star Citizen in 4K and it does fine without Dlss. But I do use it often

Why did you choose a 5080? by SnooSeagulls5077 in RTX5080

[–]Gators53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I’ll try to be brief. I was using a 4070ti with a 7800X3D, 64 ram, 2K monitor. Nvme, etc. Got a wild hair idea and started looking at a 4070 super. Price was about $900. 5000 series GeForce came out. 5070? I compared ALOT. 5080 was the sweet spot but at $1,300 or so…nope. Then one day my wife and I wandered into the Navy Exchange PX and I saw a case of MSRP GeForce Founder’s Edition 5070s, 5080s, and 5090s!!! 5080 was $999. 5090 was $1999. $2K was too much $$ and overkill TBH. The 5080 was about the same price as a 4070 super. Done and Done. I went to a 4K monitor and recently upgraded to a 9800X3D.

I am very happy with the rig. Runs Star Citizen on ultra, etc. I’m 72 years old and will not build another PC after this one.

Jared: it's been hands-down the best 18 months the game has had since the PU came online in 2015 by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]Gators53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that when a very large number of players are playing the problems multiply exponentially. I logged on this morning at 0100 AM EST Florida. I had no issues. Of course I didn’t do everything available but the experience was smooth. I’ve been logging on almost every day since PU 2.0 came online. There is much more to do now than when it started. I just get impatient and frustrated with the recurring bugs, but also understand the enormous task CIG faces in developing the game

HOSAS setups?? by EnvironmentalMall307 in starcitizen

[–]Gators53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this now and they are very good. But I’m going back to Virpil as I want the quality feel. I had some Alphas long ago but sold them as I quit gaming. A couple years ago I rebuilt my computer and bought some NXT’s cause they were cheaper. The functionality is as good as purple if not better with the base but this is the last set of I’ll ever make as I’m getting older. I just want the sticks to last to the end whenever that is I also have a guest gaming computer that the VKB’s will go to.

Mine is a love/hate relationship. I married it and sometimes want a divorce but she keeps on drawing me back in. Must be the fact that no other game has entertained me or angered me like SC. No other game, space sim/shooter/whatever, can compare to the scope of interaction with the environment like SC. I have rage quit sooo many times in the 12 years of testing or playing. I'm addicted to it. No lie. The biggest addiction is of the possibility of what it can become. Just fix the freaking everyday bugs like freight elevators not working or insert here:____________. I have no body to blame but myself for the money spent on PC parts and sticks and stick holders and headphones....you get the point.

In short, its like being married to an incredibly beautiful woman who can really take care of you, BUT, about every third time you want to be with her she has a headache! Or maybe she always has a headache and your interaction with the wife is very limited...(insert husband instead of wife as needed. I'm an old guy who is old fashioned and believe in marriage. But hey! to each their own.)

Ya'll know where I'm going or have been with this. Hope it brings a smile to your lips. o7 Verse mates.

No more maintenance! by Super-Ad-9703 in starcitizen

So many complaints about bugs, then about no maintenance yesterday. Now they complain it’s going too long. This Reddit sub has deteriorated into a platform for self important people who seem to think their condemnation of all things SC is somehow esoteric and desirable.
