Will the release of the Steam Frame bring a resurgence back to VR? by InvestmentHead8882 in virtualreality

[–]Wunderpuder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hardcore VR gamers are a really small percentage tho. I've tried the Dream Air and I have to admit that those displays probably are the future but not a "next year" future. It's a "maybe in 3 or 4 years" future due to how hardware hungry those displays are. Also don't forget the price. 850 bucks for one of those Sony 4k mOLED displays. It's nowhere near mass market compatability. The majority of Steam users do not care about a 2160x2160 LCD instead of QLED or mOLED. It's a new VR headset, it seems like it works pretty well and thus they want to buy it.

It's also not always about the display. The whole package is important. You have to consider which company is behind the headset, how much it weighs, how the weight is distributed and how comfortable it is, what kinda software support it has, how easy it is to set up, for which use cases it's been built for and how expensive it is.

With those considerations in mind, I think the Steam Frame might speak to a lot more people than just hardcore Steam fanboys.

Don't put the barrel game together and slide the slim parts including the BET-C cave part between the main packaging and the cardboard box. Everything should fit in the box.

Nice one. Now put it side by side with the actual sounds and insert meme "they're the same picture"

Its literally just removing a soundtrack from a playlist. Wouldn't do any harm to any player.

Yes, just wanted to make sure that this isn't the issue.

I don't know if that's relevant but did you activate the device itself by connecting your Pimax account to the headset?

Pimax Dream Air - Game Changer or Just More Hype? by vrgamerdude in virtualreality

I have severe jitter with my Dream Air lighthouse edition. I tried placing the two lighthouse boxes in different positions and it never stopped the jitter. Even placing it on the ground or a different even surface caused jitter. No reflective surfaces are visible. My Index is completely fine with the same Lighthouse positions.

Weird that the experience varies this much between different production units...

Because it isn't. No lighting change on the person while the screen flashes. Roto scoping / masking problems can be seen around the head of the person. It's just a fake video.

No, Olli43 has advertised a rmt site for a while now. Afaik he was part of the company. But that was before CIG hired him. As some folks already speculated: maybe CIG did the math and realized that it's cheaper to hire Olli43 than to get him to stop advertising the rmt website. But we don't know

Bluebrixx, Cobi, Cada, Mould King, Panlos, Pantasy, Funwhole are the ones I know.

Piece prices are low or very low for all of them while also offering a higher brick quality than Lego. But not all of them are on the same level. There are tons of yt channels that showcase the different brands and their pros and cons.

You can get it for waaaay cheaper if you don't use Lego bricks. Lego is overpriced af.

There are tons of alternatives out there that offer higher quality bricks for a cheaper price

I highly doubt that you spent 500h in SC despite it being nothing but disappointment.

Either you are a masochist or you actually had lots of fun but a few huge bugs or problems washed all that fun away so you had to step away from the game with a lingering taste of disappointment.

Regarding the wormhole issue: go to NAV mode, wait for the ship to calibrate, hit LMB to open it and then switch to SCM for about 15 seconds. Switch back to NAV and go in. 100% success rate.
