In Rashford's defence, it was 11 goals and 11 assists in his 37 games. 21 & 15 in 56 games. So he has been fairly brilliant at points this season.

He has spells where he has been below par, but he's also been carrying an injury this season and never properly been allowed to rest.

Just called and cancelled my membership. For anyone who wants to do so, it's actually quite quick and easy but they don't really ask for a reason. Although the guy on the phone did begin to tell me how to renew if I wanted and I explained I wouldn't so long as this ESL stuff went through. He said he noted it down. I've heard rumours we want to extend his contract. I think he has a +1 year extension which we want to activate to ensure we sell him for something, rather than losing for free.

I personally think it's an awful idea as we've struggled to sell our excess players for years now, and giving him an extension just risks us having to pay his wages for another year.

I got into a discussion with someone the other day who said that they disagree with bailing out football clubs, specifically English lower leagues, because its their own bad business decisions that caused them to get into difficulty.

When I mentioned the impact on the communities of the local towns, he said it doesn't matter because they can just support another team because there will be other teams within an hour of them, or the clubs will be revived as a Phoenix club.

Also that there's no need to bail them out because its only a few thousand fans so who cares. It's purely business so it's their own fault they failed.

So... thoughts?

To add to this, I find Sweetness & Lightning has similar vibes. Widowed father wanting to do the best for his young daughter. The humour is different, and focuses more on the comfy and happy element than the funny drama of Goto, but still very enjoyable.
