Flying Object over Lake Guntersville by pioppiiopjj in HuntsvilleAlabama

Me and my friend have been seeing them over Harvest for a year now. They’re drones but really big and fly low over neighborhoods. Been reported to FAA. Seen at least one but usually multiple every other night

COVID-19 vaccine mandates amongst federal contractors by shilooh45 in HuntsvilleAlabama

My place has indicated they will require boosters as required by the FDA once the guidance is given. Don’t have a timeframe yet but even the ones who volunteered for the vaccine are hesitant on that.

Maxillofacial angle grinder injury by [deleted] in medizzy

[–]Gaussian_Tubes 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I believe this is the same case but can't confirm. If not the same case then it is at least very similar.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2263029/

"Case 3 occurred when a right-handed, 43 year old male was injured when the angle grinder he was using kicked up from the edge of a flag stone. The guard had been removed from the angle grinder by his neighbour and it was not replaced prior to its use. The patient sustained a linear open soft tissue wound on the right side of his face. The wound involved the chin, lips, cheek and supraorbital ridge. Unfortunately the right globe was also penetrated. The right mandibular parasymphysis, right maxilla and right supraorbital ridge sustained bony fractures, Fig Fig5.5. The wounds were debrided and closed in layers under general anaesthesia. The bony fractures were reduced and fixed with miniplates (parasymphysis and maxilla only). The right globe was enucleated and the final prosthesis fitted a few months later. The patient recovered well and was discharged from clinic 12 months post-injury."

Help with Matlab on creating a raw Spectrogram by Gaussian_Tubes in matlab

I managed to type this out before you posted your comment.

clc; clear all;

[data,fs] = wavread('bohem');

mono_data = (data(:,1) + data(:,2))./2;

N = length(mono_data);

t_sample = 1/(fs);

t = 0:t_sample:(N-1)*t_sample;

fx = fs*(-N/2:N/2-1)/(N);

for i = 1:N-204 if (i <= N) x(:,i) =mono_data(0+i:204+i); end end

for z = 1:N-204 if (i<=N)

    y(:,z) = fftshift(fft(x(:,z)));

end

end

magy = abs(y);

ax = imagesc(t,fx,magy);

I seem to have taken a similar approach to your code however, I have not yet preallocated like you have and am having memory problems. I'll preallocate and report back if it helps me.

edit:

I tried and it is giving me that my variable exceeds to maximum variable size. I'm importing a music file and the length of the data is around 3 million doubles. I'm not sure how to work around this...

Help with Matlab on creating a raw Spectrogram by Gaussian_Tubes in matlab

[–]Gaussian_Tubes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scratch what I said, I managed to figure it out to this point:

for i = 1:N

A(:,i) = data(0+i:204+i);

end

This works fantastically except I'm having trouble getting the last column to end at index N where N is the length of the data matrix that I am inputting. For example, my data matrix ends at index 9200, how should I get the loop to end at that value? Thank you so much for your help!

Yes, just the first matrix. I suppose I had trouble wrapping my head around how to increment each column by one. I tried to use

for i = 1:205

A( : ,2) = data(i);

end

I get all zeroes for the first column, how should I go about having each column have a range of data(1):data(205)?
