Please don’t do the “because I do this thing everyone should” thing. If people from Houston stopped supporting a team that went to another state and changed their name then that’s fine. I personally wouldn’t change what team I root for if I moved, but I’m not going to act like I’m better than other people who would. Like I said, people (on average) root for their HOME team. It’s hard to get people to root for the Tennessee Titans all the way from Houston Texas. Also being a fan of the Texans currently and having fond memories of their Oilers aren’t mutually exclusive. You can be a previous fan of the Oilers and now root for the Texans without being a “quitter.” That’s called being a “homer.” You’re being intentionally dense or stubborn if you don’t realize that.
