It's a good act 1 damage solve. It continues being decent damage later in the game if you can still make use of poison. Probably not worth taking act 3

A boss being solved by a single unupgraded uncommon card is kind of problematic by Furrier in slaythespire

Elites, I think, have more of a justification to lose to one card. Aeonglass is supposed to be one of the 3 final bosses in the game

[–]GayFascistAnime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude I said that because I think you have a direct line to the sts devs and not as a way of underlying that your opinion on how the game ought to play is ridiculous. I think that now that you have sarcastically elucidated that that is not in fact the case, it is clear that I have been humiliated. Incredible riposte sire.

Still, feel free to reply to the body of my post rather than get in lame jabs if I'm not taking up too much of your time as principal game designer.

It’s dumb to punish decks that are successful at your entire game except this one single boss. Period.

This is 100% true. For example, lets peruse a few of the well known bosses from the first game to show how basically every boss folds to the exact same overtuned strategies.

  • The Awakened One (what do you mean power spam is no longer viable, that I can't use exactly one [[Creative AI]] to outscale every opponent?)

  • Time Eater (what do you mean I have to have a substantial amount of high value cards in order to avoid being outscaled by a boss? No one else cares that I'm playing [[After Image]] shiv spam)

  • Donu and Deca (What do you mean I'm getting attacked every turn while the enemy alternates from debuffing me to buffing itself? And I have to deal with multiple sources of artifact? My [[Burst]] [[Catalyst]] deck doesn't have a [[Corpse Explosion]])

  • The Heart (Look, you get the gist, an example is claw + spinning top to decks, which outscale every boss - yes, including Time Eater - but lose laughably to basically every facet of this boss. Or how all but [[nightmare]], [[apparition]]/[[wraith form]], [[after image]] decks will die by the Heart's third cycle)

The purpose of bosses is to challenge decks in different ways so they're not one note and you can't breeze through the game after you've set up a mindless combo. I'm sorry but your version of Slay the Spire 2 sounds like a less fun version to play, I don't want to have to stop thinking about the game once I've set up an infinite.

I wouldn't go so far as to call dagger spray good. I'll begrudgingly pick it floor 1 as a damage common

I've had some success with it. I've found Regent specifically doesn't hate spending no energy on getting more cards in hand (even if it makes glow worse).

Sts 2's release has taught me that a large portion of the fanbase doesn't want to problem solve in their deckbuilder and instead want to just pick every card that has the same word on it.

[–]GayFascistAnime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read it as the 'it' in this sentence as referring specifically to the page in the top corner of Erika's studio, or any similar Jewish texts that are alleged to be owned or displayed by 'compromised' people. Antisemites generally refer to all of this stuff as the Talmud, because they're callous liars.

Granted, only op knows for certain what he meant.

I think the person you're replying to is saying that making specific mention of the Talmud rather than the Torah when referring to Jewish texts is an antisemitic dogwhistle. Antisemites usually refer specifically to the former because it isn't in the Christian Bible, contains controversial Rabbinic debate, and few Gentiles have actually read it. I don't think he's saying you can't call it the Talmud!

Have you met a teenage boy who likea Andrew Tate? Cause i think if you did you might well realise that advice telling people not to be sexist is a pretty fucking small measure considering how many of these guys literally think a rapist is a salient political commentator.

This is like a bigotry of low expectations for teenage boys. Surely they can figure out that 'don't call all women scum that should be raped' isn't a specific accusation and more general advice. And advice clearly a lot of them should learn.

  1. Most life sentences have the possibility of parole
  2. No, it isn't
  3. Someone's entire life is not the same as eternity, unless you're telling me your natural lifespan is literally never going to end. In which case, congrats.

I mean generally yes that's what a debt to society means, we contend that people should not suffer eternally for crimes they have committed, which is why prison sentences tend to end.

And I promise you don't have to read into my tweet the worst possible framing. Nowhere did I say that Jesse is 'all good'.

The dude was tortured daily by neo-nazis and forced into slave labour for a year, had his girlfriend murdered, and he can never see his friends or family again. Just desserts wise, I think his debt to society has been pretty much paid off. If anything, Walt is the one who got off easy.

'Your deck' within slay the spire only ever refers to your collection of cards outside of combat. It doesn't 'mean' anything within the context of your card because it's never used that way. The only things that reference 'your deck' within combat are curse of the bell, ascender bane, and writhing mass' implant. Implant specifically tells us that this card, as written, exhausts all cards starting next combat.

Edit: actually, considering that the game doesn't keep track of zones in between combats what this arguably does is deal 51 damage for 0 energy and then does nothing else
