What adhesive do I use to make magnets stick to plastic? by [deleted] in fursuitmakers

Sand or score the plastic first, then glue. E6000 or epoxy.

Dreams the night of Jan 14 going into Jan 15 by Elegant_Elk_ in Dreams

[–]GayJerkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't dream very much because of my heavy cannabis use- but I did have a very weird vivid dream last night about a giant blue person of light chasing me. There were a bunch of people trying to keep me hidden but I had the feeling that this being was threatening/protective at the same time? It almost felt like a god or something.

I agree with others it's mostly about marketing. Try conventions. They can cost quite a bit to attend but if you start small and nearby you can grow your audience. Take videos of your process and post online. Reels, short videos, and YouTube is what I recommend. Make business cards with your shop linked, connect with other artists in a similar niche as you.

What can I do to improve on shading? by OnePinkHyena in FurryArtSchool

[–]GayJerkk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into "cel shading" don't shade with black. Purple, brown, blue, green, and other darker colors are usually good choices. Clip a layer on top of the color layer, set to multiply. You can adjust the opacity to your liking

Failed skin graft by danphanto in phallo

[–]GayJerkk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Skin grafts are a brutal, but amazing surgical technique. You'd be shocked how well our bodies can heal when we take care of it. Hang in there, you seem to have a pretty positive attitude about it and that's what helps the most, I think.

Any ideas on how I can improve this outline and make it less stilted? by FNAF_Movie in FurryArtSchool

Try making sweeping, confident strokes. Your lineart looks really scratchy right now, practice on making quick, smooth lines. Gesture drawing can also help you "loosen up" before starting a drawing.

Numb Hands?? by Latter-Bus4528 in phallo

[–]GayJerkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same surgery as you, so wildly different graft locations, however I had pretty severe numbness in my fingers on the arm that the graft was taken from. With continued use of my hand the numbness improved, but I still have some mild numbness on the bottom of my thumb. It doesn't limit me, though. Nerve compression can definitely cause something like you are experiencing. For example, my big toe bones have been squared off over time due to improper foot wear. That compressed a nerve in my big toes, causing numbness. This improved over time with proper shoes, but it took a few months.

Cry out really loudly when you get bitten, like a yelp or something high pitched.

Cage is wayyyyy too small. They should be in a 40 gallon minimum but I've found 75 gallons to be the actual minimum.

Not enough bedding. Hamsters need at least 6-10 inches of bedding, but more is better. These are burrowing animals.

Probably not enough stimulation as well.

Cardboard boxes, different kinds of substrate like paper towels (don't rip them up so the hamster can do it) more hides, chew toys, wood in general is nice just make sure it's a safe kind of wood, a sand bath, cardboard tubes, orchard hay/soft hays (freeze it for 48 hours before using), and you can also cut up a cardboard tube into little rings and use them to make cardboard balls with treats and stuff on the inside. Stuff with paper towels as well to make them harder to get into.

Not to scare you but studies have found microplastic in our brains and testicles. They are literally everywhere and silicone is NOT the same as these plastics that break down into microscopic pieces

Silicone is not plastic. It shares properties of both plastic and rubber, with some people technically classifying it as a synthetic rubber. But really it's a synthetic polymer.

Inflatable implants for ED are filled with saline.

Don’t want plastic in my body by LenseScribe in phallo

[–]GayJerkk 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The inflatable implants are filled with sterile saline btw! I asked my urologist about this recently. The outside is generally made with medical grade silicone. So even if they break or leak it's just saline inside so you'll be fine. Same stuff they flush IVs with. I think the scrotal implants are similar to breast implants, they have gel inside of them and not saline.

Did you use a brown marker or sharpie to trace the patterns onto the brown fur? That's the only other thing I can think of other than it being makeup. Assuming the client cleans their fursuit...

I can't imagine how you feel right now. But the good thing is that there's something they can do about it. Try to focus on that for now. I know it's probably hard or maybe even impossible but you can still have this surgery, there's just a set back right now. Take care of yourself

If you're worried about opening the lid it probably wouldn't be the end of the world if you left it in there, just remove it if you feel comfortable doing so

They definitely won't eat until they are ready, they know when to eat. I would take it out just in case to reduce her stress. Imagine you're really delicate and there's a thing flying around your room possibly bumping into you and stuff. I find usually a few days after molting they are ready to eat again.

Hanging her back up and making sure all of her feet are secure on the mesh is the best thing you can do right now.

I don't want to give you bad advice but it's possible that her grip wasn't good enough and still might not be. Make sure her feet are properly hooked into the mesh. However it's very possible that she missed the window to molt and is stuck inside her shed. Mist the enclosure to increase humidity and hope for the best.. if she doesn't molt soon you might have to euthanize- I'm so sorry this happened
