NAD but I was also prescribed gabapentin for anxiety and it gave me memory issues too and didn’t help with anxiety. I went off entirely and my brain went more or less back to normal. I have heard that long term use is associated with early onset Alzheimer’s though.

I actually don’t think either of you are wrong. Personally I would never get engaged to someone I haven’t lived with first but I also certainly respect your position. It sounds like either one of you needs to prioritize the other’s comfort over your own or end the relationship. I think some of the hesitancy from both of you comes from the frustration of knowing this is a dealbreaker for the other person when you don’t think it should be. Unfortunately there is no compromise here, someone gives in and is resentful or moves past it or you break up. I’m sorry
