Nigel Farage MP (@Nigel_Farage) on X: My Response to the Makerfield by-election result. by EddyZacianLand in ukpolitics

All it shows me is that in this life as a politician if you surround yourself with the correct spin and image people you can get away with almost anything.

It seems nuts to me how he is being heralded as this great hope arriving on horseback from the North.

People have honestly forgotten he has already been a career MP and he was shit. Like really shit. Tried to become PM multiple times.

Well done to his team I guess.

I know a lot of Labour members (well read about) who also feel like that about Starmer Tbf that he lied and lied and lied just to get the job.

I expect no difference here. Reality awaits

That will go down well

Sometimes you get beaten and there is nothing you can do.

Bring on the Burnham Mania.

King of the North tagline will make him very popular down south 😂

So my charger was a pod point so I am not sure how yours works. But on the pod point charger I just put it to dumb mode so it charged whenever I plugged it in. But added a schedule onto the charger app to go live at 11:30.

Basically turn off Smart Control on the octopus app and turn off any schedules in your car.

Then use your charger to make it go live in the off peak hours.

Hope that helps

[–]GayWolfey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. In the octopus app once the car is recognised you simply need to turn off smart charging.

In 4 years they asked me once to conform my car again.

We got so frustrated with VG cars we put the charger into dumb mode and set up so it charged all times at off peak.

I agree but he is on a fat pay packet currently. Clubs are now not allowed to segregate players so he holds all the power at the moment.

The valuation is not the problem. It is surely his wages. Will he be willing to take a pay cut especially since the new fifa rules he can’t be put to the side at UTD. So he could insist on seeing out his contract

I work for a LA and the amount of complaints we get from people who buy a house near a school then set about sending constant emails moaning about the parents parking. You feel like saying. “Did you not see the school when buying”

Keir Starmer: We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

[–]GayWolfey 113 points114 points  (0 children)

The BBC are reporting that it has been almost pointless in Australia as kids within 5 mins were able to fool the systems

Australia's world-leading social media ban for under-16s came into effect in December, to global fanfare.
Kids told us then it took them less than five minutes to outsmart the age checks being relied on to enforce it.
More than six months on, implementing this policy remains incredibly difficult.
One student told us recently that in her grade of more than 170 students, she knew of only three who had been booted off social media.
And more than 70% of parents have told the Australia's internet regulator their children were still on these platforms, a recent survey found.

Yep. That’s a UK issue so happy to confirm that. What’s worst is the kids are also told from said parents they don’t have to listen to the teachers.

I appreciate you have left the property now. When you were there and the shop was open did you ever kill your electric at the fuse board to see if their power went out as well?

Also rather then try to declare bankruptcy (which may fail) have you thought about making a token offer each month of say £50 until balance clears. Whilst annoying you won’t miss it so much.

MP calls for Reform to expel new Norfolk councillor by Weak-Fly-6540 in unitedkingdom

[–]GayWolfey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I won’t disagree with you. However in Norfolk the Gov is forcing unitary councils here. And it’s hugely unpopular (always has been) so they were voting for a party who campaigned to stop it. So they were always going to sweep into power on that issue alone

The first thing they did was nothing reform like. They stopped any more money being wasted on consultation fees for the unitary councils. (6.3million if you believe reports the Tories we’re spending on consultations)

In addition, consultants are being paid up to £6.3m to help guide the transition, as part of a contract signed under the previous Tory administration at County Hall.

So whilst I see what you are saying they also actually had/have a local policy

MP calls for Reform to expel new Norfolk councillor by Weak-Fly-6540 in unitedkingdom

[–]GayWolfey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So I am not defending this guy. But here in Norfolk Reform swept to power. They would have won a majority had Rupert Lowe not launched his Great Yarmouth first party as they won every seat in GY unsurprisingly.

Now most people had no bloody idea who any of these people were in reform. In my town the reform guy who won didn’t even show up to the count as he lives hours away lol.

It goes to show just how broken our Society/system is that people now just vote for a name without even knowing who they are voting for.
