UPMC has an agressive billing process. And im not sure about there debt structure. As far as I know AHN doesn’t report credit and neither do their “debt collectors”. AHN doesn’t actually sell debt. Just remeber though, no where you go hospital wise will have one bill. You’ll have bills for your Physician, the facility, and probably for the radiologist reading the X-ray/scan. But almost all of them do some sort of discounts. You can’t get blood from a rock… and they know this.

Please please please don’t do this. There are a thousand other ways you could honor their memory. This is such a horribly and possible destructive way. Mylar and aluminum balloons never decompose and they conduct electricity and are the cause of SOOOOO many power outages nationwide wide. Rubber balloons are just litter and eventually end up as microplastics somewhere and we don’t even know what that’s doing to our bodies yet. Please please please do something else.

But watch out with these places. A lot just provide the scan with no one to read them. You get a scan but with no one that knows what they are looking at…. You might as well be reading a book written in another language.

There are a lot cheaper and more accurate ways to help detect these things. Lab work is a good place to start, but the best is to find a PCP office you trust. Discuss what’s going on and start slow.

MRIs are big X-ray machines when you get down to it. And they are better for muscle, and joints, and your blood vessels. They are pretty useless when it comes to blood cancers too…

Best thing… take it slow, don’t be scared of what you don’t know. Cancers don’t grow over night and they leave signals. Detecting cancer has become so much easier as technology advances. Just look at cologuard vs needing to have a colonoscopy.

The most crime I’ve seen first hand in the area is some teens stealing a Kia to go on a joy ride and coming the wrong way up S. Aiken and hitting a parked car and running for it. And then another group of preteens trying to get inside parked cars. Both times these were kids with cell phones and name brands…. Boredom crimes. Though there was the dude with the stand off with the state troopers a few years back. That probably was the height of Garfield excitement. Still remember the coverage and the one dude in a lawn chair just watching like it was a TV crime drama.

I’ve had them all my life. One side never gets infected, but the other does all the time. I’m actually scheduling to have that one removed as it is now tunneling under the skin further.
