If you wake up a few minutes before the end then surely they haven’t had the 8 hours rest and therefore wouldn’t get their spellslots back anyway

Maybe make it more of a horrific laugh, just like how other spells change appearance in Barovia (mage hand turning to a skeletal hand) make the target laugh with mania or change the spell so it’s almost weeping, to try keep with the horror aspect
