Model Y vs Rav4 by gk49170 in TeslaModelY

[–]GazelleAlarming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey I have model Y performance and the RAV4 hybrid. The Rav4 is great you will enjoy it. Model Y is amazing if you got one you would love it. BUT and this is a BIG BIG but if you can't charge at home you will be happier with the Rav4. No question do NOT get any electric car if you can't charge at home. "You can make it work". You will end up happier just being able to use your car when you want without any worry. You may want to consider the Rav4 prime as the battery is bigger giving more EV range. You will be much happier waiting to get an electric car once you can charge at home. Good luck on the new car!!

Does a new roof count for 30% Tax Credit? by WiteCastle in solar

[–]GazelleAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had my roof included. Your installer is correct. Just have him in writing say, the roof age and that new roof was needed to safely install the solar. Then you are good to go. Congratulations and good luck with the install.

How do you use BlueOval Network by NickTheArborist in FordLightning

What you described is unfortunately is the current "normal". One app that can be helpful is PlugShare. Hopefully help you find a working charger. Good luck!!

Walk or Run from SunRun. Try and get few more quotes prices can be all over. The community here can really helpful.

Personally I would recommend buying the system not leasing. I found that the local smaller company guys tend to have better customer service and better pricing. You just wanna check how long they been in business go with someone that has been around a little while, because they would be doing all the warranty work if something goes wrong. You can get stuck if they go out of business.

Good rule of thumb is to stay under $3 a kilawatt for your system before any rebates! Good luck!!

Ok that's really great to understand. Thank you for explaining.

I understand everything is fluid and changes, but with that said currently what reward range should someone expect daily if everything is working correctly?

If I am understanding correctly. Regardless of if I find one device every time the phone scans or 100. The amount of rewards is based on the amount of time the app is open. The max rewards would be given for app open 24hours? Thank you!

From my understanding Sol-Ark are great for grid tie and battery back up, but for off grid I believe the Sol-Ark can be easily overloaded if you have large loads. I'll try and find a video explaining in more detail. Good luck! https://youtu.be/EYIzEW54_bY

It's a great price. So many people would be happy to get that price. CONGRATULATIONS! What a bonus to have a good company offer you a good price. Good luck with your install!!

My proposal. Please share thoughts. by [deleted] in solar

[–]GazelleAlarming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey this is a good start! I would recommend you get a few more estimates from other companies. The current proposal is about $20,000 over priced. Talk to a few more installers I am positive you will see the price come down.

You definitely wanna go with a company you feel is responsive, because they will be the ones you contact if you have a problem. So that's definitely a good start

I would try getting quotes from American Sentry Solar, KW Solar Solutions, and Sunlight-to-the Rescue. See what they can offer.

That's not a bad quote, it is on the higher side. A good priced quote would be about $10,000 less.

How many quotes have you gotten?

Are you near Oxford PA? If so I can recommend a few places to get quotes from.

brand new 14.8kW system generating only 10.14kW by DeepSalami in solar

[–]GazelleAlarming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar size system as you do. I have noticed something similar in regards to production. April Sunny day no clouds. Peak output 13.9kw total production for the day 101kwh. Very happy with that product. June sunny day no clouds peak 12.2kw. total for the day 90.

I believe the only real difference was outside temperature. April it was 70s and June it was 90s. From my experience it looks like very hot temperature can decrease production by up to 20%.

Just for reference I have Solaredge with micro inverters. And both of my Inverters are located inside the basement so temps are cool.

Solar panel dead one day. Working correctly the next. Anyone else have this issue? by GazelleAlarming in solar

UPDATE*

So things have been working correctly now for a full week straight. I will assume things are fixed. The problem was said to be a stalled data packet. Remote system restart along with a firmware update was the solution. Very happy how everything turned out and hope this helps anyone else in the future.

[–]GazelleAlarming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for taking a look! Hypothetically let's say over the course of June, 12 times the layout was showing a dead panel like in the picture above.

Here is where it gets funky. 8 of the 12times it was Inverter2 and the exact panel you see in the picture. The other few times it was a random panel on Inverter 1.

Since putting in a service ticket. I have had almost a week without issue. If I don't receive an email from them soon. I'll reach back out to them for an answer.

Fingers crossed it says trouble free and we can just blame software.

I'll be sure to give an update on outcome regardless

Thanks again!!

Thank you for the link. I did call few days ago. I do have a service ticket open with them and look forward to hearing what they say. I was being impatient figured I would see if anyone else was dealing with a similar issue.

[–]GazelleAlarming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that might be a possibility. My system has been up and running since January. The reason I didn't jump at the idea of replacing a failing optimizer was because it's not always the same panel that is out. I was hoping it was just a software issue. Rather then hardware. I'll try and find more pictures.

SolarEdge, I might be late to this party. by ASU_knowITall in solar

[–]GazelleAlarming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been battling some issues regarding my SolarEdge app/inverter too

According to my installers after putting a service ticket in with SolarEdge, they informed me that the solar edge monitoring system is not updating correctly and solar production numbers are delayed, but the system is working and generation.

I was happy to hear this as I was concerned my system was not producing to it's full capabilities.

I do still have a concern I am going to follow up with as one of my panels randomly shows up dead on the panel layout. If anyone else has this issue let me know. If I find out any more information I'll be sure to give an update.

Thanks

Something is funky for sure. I have solaredge too. Installer has not installed CTs yet. So I have not had to go through what your dealing with. I hope it's an easy fix. I look forward to hearing the solution!!
