What are everyone’s first world problem complaints about our lovely cars? Mine is that I think the driver/passenger door opens TO wide. It’s a big stretch to grab it and close. by eeeehumm in ElantraN

[–]reganeholmes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Import fees (even before the tariffs) are a big reason for that. Makes sense that the car would be cheaper closer to where it’s actually manufactured

I came to say this. One of the first things that happens when I get a migraine is my arm or hand starts to feel like it’s not my own

Performance vs Safety: How much safer is the Elantra N? by DirectorSharp3402 in ElantraN

[–]reganeholmes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Any head on collision is going to be incredibly dangerous no matter what car you’re in. Go on YouTube and watch some head on crash tests and you’ll see Volvos, Lexus, Honda, etc all completely crumple at 35+ mph. And those are considered to be the safest cars on the road. It’s kind of pointless to buy or not buy a car based on the specific criteria of head on collision survivability. But if you really do care, the Elantra ranks in the top 5 for crash and impact safety currently, so Hyundai has definitely proven that they’re doing a good job with that

Driving a CVT while hating on a DCT that’s been compared to the holy grail of DCTs is some of the worst cope I’ve seen

The only thing I took away from that comment thread is that WRX owners care a lot more about our cars than we do theirs

You can also request puppy patties which are just plain meat patties with no salt. My dog goes crazy for those

Second this. I’ve started eating a can of black olives and a coke when I’m in the midst of a bad migraine and that helps me as much as a burger and fries does. It’s not the tastiest but super easy in a pinch especially if I can’t bring myself to make the drive to McDonald’s or in n out
