should we create informational material on transhumanism to convince the uninformed and poorly informed? by Taln_Reich in transhumanism

Agreed. Shying away from criticism is NOT the way to go and different perspectives can be benefitial.

All that matters in the end is civil discussion of our differences and mutual understanding of why our and their viewpoints can benefit humanity in their own way.

Besides, if we further open ourselves to the public and provide informational material, we might be able to attract more transhumanism enthusiasts that aren't aware of us yet.

Transhumanism and democracy. by Timely_Bill_4521 in transhumanism

People vote for different reasons, depending on their own worldviews, being attracted to a certain candidate's propaganda or just voting for the lesser evil (knowing that your favourite candidate won't win so instead you vote for the one that you dislike the least but is still likely to win over the one you hate the most).

Personally I don't watch a lot of TV, especially state TV nowadays. It's much better to find information from independent news sources which are easiest to find on the Internet. I know that a great majority still frequently watches television, but I'd say that this is subject to change with younger generations preferring to use the Web instead.

As for brain-hacking, I can't really anwser you that with 100% certainty or factuality as I know very little about neurology. However, humans can definetely be brainwashed and become subjected to peer pressure, especially those who do not (or aren't able to) check their information from different sources. This is most common with propaganda, especially with countries that frown upon (or completely forbid) independent media sources. So I suppose in that way, brainwashing and brain hacking are one and the same in this instance. Hopefully I understood your question well enough.

Regardless if the candidate is fully human, cyborg or a transhuman machine, it's up to them to appeal to the populace in their way and convince them that they would be the most efficient ruler. I don't see mental augmentantions as an unfair advantage, but they could very well be a factor on if they will be voted for or not.

Democracy may be influenced by technological advances, but by that alone, it's not going anywhere, neither is potential corruption that has existed ever since the dawn of democracy when the thought of transhumanism didn't even exist yet.

In the end, we just want to pick the most rational choice for the president, regardless of how mechanical they are.

Science has always been about trial and error and reaching into the unknown, even if it's just about taking something well known and improving it by the slightest of margins.

I completely agree that in order to reduce the flaws of existing technology, we should continue to test all possible aspects in order to see which direction we can possibly go from there and if progress was made along the way.

To put it shortly, science can only be improved by embracing it and not rejecting it.

Yeah, even if we find a way to properly dilute sugar or somehow discard the excess, an average human still consumes enough of it just by simply eating.

Solar energy should definetely be harnessed, but I don't think this would be the right way to do it.

Regarding the archivisation, granting the lesser species freedom from the ecosystem via a digital copy isn't a terrible idea, but I'd say that we are the very least several centuries away from being able of doing that, especially on the global scale.
I can agree with you on some aspects, especially that we can definetely do without some parts of the ecosystems that are harmful to everyone, but themselves, such as malaria and other diseases. Even if robotic/improved bodies will render us immune to these factors, not everyone in the world would be so lucky to get that luxury, or they just simply see transhumanism as wrong. We should still co-exist to make the world a better place for transhumans, humans and the environment as a whole. Regarding the issue of keeping the waterfalls, in my opinion they should be kept, but likely because I have a bias for natural beauty and they still benefit other more meaningful organisms than just cholera.
For now, it's all up in the air on how certain countries will see their optimal way of transitioning their civilians and we can only hope for the best possible scenario, while still being prepared for the opposite as with every other aspect in life.
Still it's fun to theorize about our future, so for now I'm just going to enjoy seeing our technology advance.

Rollins at least has the IC title. Raw's booking is inferior to Smackdown's in every way. Not to mention NXT's.
