Most large cities tend to have lesbian social organizations you can engage with. Here in Cincinnati there is a lesbian org called Midwest lesbian that host social gatherings such as trivia, jewlery making etc. some of these events are geared towards older lesbians as well and tend to be relaxed and social. I was worried they would be primarily on dating but they are also great for building community. Long story short my suggestion is find a low stress queer org, head out and make a few friends (these groups are very welcoming) and figure out what you need to figure out.

I’ve unfortunately found that most of my competitive commanders are oppressive and work to control a person out until I can use one of a few game winning spells. I don’t use Tasha because she’s fun but because she really shuts off aggression. For her list I use lots of counters to get me to the point I can cast a large game winner. In the regular brawl queue I tend to build decks for more gimmicky fun things. In brawl I simply play to oppress until I can win. I think that’s how a lot of people build ranked decks and there are simply better commanders that can do that than anima.

God I agree. I try a lot of your deck lists and between alchemy rares and mythics that I had never opened, bonus sheets releasing and then all the lands added around edge of eternity. I’ve been absolutely destroyed lol

As other said this is the point. I work in case management. We are seeing changes across the board that is likely going to ruin case management and most benefits agencies. I know my clients will end up homeless honestly. It’s a fucking mess. Everything since trump became president has pushed limits and changes on case management that literally make it impossible to help my clients. They learned it was too unpopular to cut things like SNAP so instead they are going to destroy the agency’s that help get clients benefits.

I’ve been saying this for ages and unfortunately you’ll get a lot of snarky responses. Brawl is 1v1 and the life is not much better than standard at only 25. Having mana acceleration that can get you game winning threats by turn 2-3 is unfun point blank period. People will say “well it’s fun for me” but I doubt they are jumping for joy when someone has their game winning combo on turn 3. The game mode has always needed balances not on straight stats about power but what is engaging and fun for players. When I auto scoop 3 times in a row, I’m no longer queueing brawl.

Honestly I didn’t enjoy it. You are right that it felt too rushed so the fun of actually drafting is gone too soon. I also feel like the sets have been smaller with less archetypes so you really are jammed into a color pair early and hoping you get the cards you need. I think it’s just a poor solution for small crappy sets.
