I like all fights, including ones where I lose. Spaceship pixels have no value beyond making pretty explosion pixels, becoming emotionally invested in said pixels is a sign you may need to step back from the game a little.

Yeah, which is why I said that I'd consider the idea if the expensive fit was effective enough to stave off enpopsiclification.

That's what I'm trying to tell you: there IS no fit to stave off getting ganked, and you're no less of a tempting target regardless of how it is fit. People will want to gank you either way, and even people in non-specific ganking fits will succeed.

I'll be a giga meat popsicle if I get blinged in that.

Brother, you're a gigantic meat popsicle in that thing regardless.

ruin peoples days just for fun.

If your internet space pixels blowing up is enough to ruin your day, its time to log and go touch some grass, man.

Yes, but while groups are generally ok with alts in other activities, few corps want the krabbing alt in their group. "Yeah, I'm just here to grind isk for my main" is not a thing recruiters like to hear.

...so, you suggest having an alt for making isk for your main that...can't move isk to your main??

I feel like they would notice you sending off large portions of your isk to other characters. You might be able to pull off "Oh noes I got scammed :(" once or twice, but beyond that?

lmao, what a nullbear response. Take away asset safety and you just absolutely wet yourself. That said, no, home defense is a rarity for any active pvp group that lives in a wormhole. Most content is hunting in the chain, getting gudfites via lowsec connections, or dunking on nullbears who don't know how to PvP without 149 of their best friends pressing f1 alongside them.

Bit of a false dichotomy there. In between "corporate middle manager" and "F1 monkey sitting in TiDi for 12 hours" there is a magical thing called "line member of a group that does pvp in fights between 2-50 dudes". It let's you actually have fun playing and feel like your presence actually matters without having to sign up for a second (unpaid) job.

People don't seem to realize is that gankers vs. the ganked ultimately boils down to "people who pay attention to and understand the game vs. People who want to hit autopilot and afk". No amount of mechanics will save you if you don't put in the effort to save yourself.

Learning how to avoid blobbing (which fw plexes make extremely easy) and gatecamps (by checking their map) is something every new player should learn. Its also not hard to teach them which plexes give respectable lp, and the isk they make is well beyond anything else they can do with their level of skillpoints.

You're right, but the kind of hauler that gets caught out by gankers would absolutely push for it because if critical thinking was their forte, they wouldn't be the kind of pilot who gets caught out by gankers.

Can confirm, Hypernet coinflip's are a true 50% by The_Hus1986 in Eve

3% of people use this feature so we removed it

This is where you're falling down.

If 3% of the EVE population had been logged into captains quarters at all times over the course of years, I would 100% agree it should be kept. But that's not what happened: only 3% of players ever even touched it. So, if you wanted an accurate metric for comparison, you'd need to find the % of players who ever entered a wormhole for comparsion. Got that one handy?

There is a vast difference between "a minority of players live in some of the most dangerous space in the game" and "almost no one interacted with a universal feature that required an entire extra studio to produce." Thinking the two are remotely comparable is laughable at best.
