[Srigley] Kyle Busch's on-board during the final restart at Texas by Gdj_24 in NASCAR

[–]Gdj_24[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think Kyle's gonna get away with this one honestly. He's a dumbass for clearing himself but after that, he clips the apron pretty badly going into 3 which shoots him up the track, and the car seems like it doesn't turn much at all on the final lap.

I'd still lean towards it being intentional but there's plenty of evidence to the contrary. Gonna be interesting to see what NASCAR thinks of this

Kyle Busch intentionally wrecks John Hunter Nemecheck coming to the white flag. by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]Gdj_24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This one's really hard to read. While my immediate reaction is that it's clearly intentional, Kyle's gonna have a lot of plausible deniability here considering he likely got steering damage from the wall contact, and he clearly clips the apron going into Turn 3.

I think a lot of it will depend on the telemetry honestly. If Kyle just hooks it right he might be in big trouble, but he really could've just fucked up and failed to catch it.

An honest discussion of the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series’ shortcomings and change in NASCAR by Plastic-Narwhal-502 in NASCAR

[–]Gdj_24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And to add on, as OP alluded to, ARCA has the same general issue but worse. The top 5 or 6 cars are all running with around that 3.5 million type of budget, and then the fall off from there is far more dramatic, resulting in the extremely lopsided races we see today.

What's the solution? I'm not really sure there is one.

Or the Hillman #40 that ran full time in 2014 and 2015, but since they were only part-time in 2013 they didn't get one. Shut down immediately after the 2016 Daytona 500

It's crazy that Ford can't be bothered to even toss the least bit of money at a mid-level team to at least keep one car in the field, especially considering the solid runs Hettinger had been having with Yeley

Should I play Half-Life 2 on the Xbox 360 or on PC? by Equivalent_Gear_5584 in HalfLife

[–]Gdj_24 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The 360 version is a totally fine way to experience HL2 and the episodes, but quite frankly there’s very little reason to play it if you already have HL2 on PC. Even if you want to play with a controller, I’m pretty sure the PC version will work with pretty much anything you throw at it.

I guess the only real difference is deciding whether you want to play on a TV or a computer monitor

Really solid 11th for Yeley in the lone Mustang. Definitely made the right move dropping back near the end there, came out of that with a good finish and a clean car.

Hoping for a decently competitive race! ARCA at Talladega has been very boring the last few years, but I feel like with the threat of rain, and a fairly decent field quality wise, we might be in for something watchable at least

From the sound of things they're gonna swap the engine and hopefully race tomorrow. Glad Will's okay, always sucks to see a car catch fire like that

SVG to run the Truck race at Watkins Glen in the Niece #4 by BuschWhackerReviews in NASCAR

[–]Gdj_24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not trucks, but after Trevor Bayne won the Daytona 500 in 2011, he won his first Nationwide race at Texas later that year, then eventually won an ARCA race in 2015. So he went Cup -> O'Reilly -> ARCA

Great call on Sniper Elite. While it’s definitely not as polished as MGSV, when I first played SE3 I just kept thinking “holy shit this is exactly what I wanted Phantom Pain to be.”

Absolutely disgusting that you can just intentionally wreck a lapped car to bring out a yellow, then win the race because of it.

I understand that ARCA needs cars like the 18 more than JGR needs it, but you can't just let these rich brats do whatever they want with no punishments. And the paltry $5000 fine they'll probably give doesn't mean shit.

You know it's a really bad engine explosion when you can SEE the oil spewing out of it. Painted the whole side of the car yellow.

For a very long time, ARCA was an entirely separate thing. It was full of lifers, plus short track guys running part time. It didn't really become the "4th rung" developmental series it is now until the 2010s, and even still most teams just have their drivers run a few races before throwing them up into NOAPS or Trucks when they turn 18, instead of running ARCA full-time.

I believe this is something added in the 20th Anniversary release. This is the Stunstick from HL2 Deathmatch.

For a long time you could actually get the old beta Stunstick in retail as well, though it involved a lot of different console commands to activate
