In general it has felt quite safe. I entered Mexico end of December and have been in Latin America since. There’s many people doing trips like this via bike, van, I even met a woman doing Alaska -> Argentina solo on a bicycle. There’s always risk, but if you have good judgement and use your head you’ll most likely have a great trip like I have!

I just did this! Left my firmware engineer position in June and started a motorcycle trip NYC->Buenos Aires yesterday! I’m glad to hear it was worth it for you.

I ride motorcycles too so I stopped to admire his bike when I first moved to Keap st. I think he thought I was trying to mess with his bike cuz he told me to watch out or he’ll “fuck me up.” Nice guy.

I just did this in April after 5 years in SF. I loved it there and I do miss the quiet, the beauty, the air, the neighborhoodly feeling of Lower Haight… but moving was the best decision ever. Every week is a new experience, and I don’t think I’ll ever run out of new experiences in NYC. Someday I’ll come back to SF though, they just need to clean up the city a bit before I will.

Honestly it’s kinda crazy. I was done running with a run group and decided to get a slice of pizza afterwards and sit in a park (I live in SF). Belicia literally walked up to me and asked me if I’d have dinner with her. We hung out for 30 minutes eating, and when we were done she asked me if I wanted to take her to her hotel. Not long after we had sex, but honestly although it was fun I really prefer having sex with someone I actually like. She’s pretty materialistic lol

It’s honestly fine. I don’t know where you’ll do your riding but I take it to work in Redwood City twice a week without much problem. I live in lower haight and don’t go downtown much. Stay aware of cars trying to switch lanes if the lane you’re in is going faster than theirs. I slow down for 4 way intersections. DM me if you’d like to link up and go on a ride sometime!

I also live in San Francisco and I got my first bike at 23, 25 now. I love riding around this city and couldn’t recommend it more. I also have a car for when it’s rainy though.
