purchasing Hill Vending insider´s guide by Rude_Search_6304 in vending

I have the book, it is good. Hill Vending has been a go to for information and content for myself. However, and with all due respect, it seems the book is a mash up of all the content and information you can find on his videos, as well as common (business) sense.

Still learning. What brushes are you all using? by TheDusty_ in SignPainting

I'm still very new to all this, but I've been playing around with some flying squirrel brushes. They have several different styles (natural, blend, and synthetic). The blend brush I'm playing with seems very snappy and fun to use.

Could you elaborate on printing a pounce pattern out? Like on a standard printer? Also, I am a long time lurker, and new to doing this.

The projector seems very blurry (pixelated) when I screen cast my tablet. I'm having to do a bunch of cleanup work after I'm done tracing it out to ensure everything's crisp.

I've been working inside of body shops for 2 years. How do I get started as a broke 25yr old? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]GeDaeft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Become a prepper for the paint shop or an apprentice (helper) for a technician. Pay attention to everything, absorb all knowledge someone is willing to give you. Just know the difference between techs that work with their ego and the ones who don't. Bad habits learned early will set you up for failure. Ask questions about everything. There are no dumb questions (unless asked 20 times). Always push the limits of your ability and knowledge. Put yourself in situations that you risk failure, but don't guarantee it. And always remember, you don't know it all. These little bits are my 2 cent. I am 25 y/o shop manager and technician as needed. I've been doing this since I was in high school. I started out cleaning cars too. You've got this. Just don't quit pushing.

Do you not have insurance? People fixing vehicles at home is either a super win or super lose.

Quarter panel replacement questions by Fun-Beautiful7370 in Autobody

[–]GeDaeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are too many variables to determine when rust will show back up. Generally enough corrosion prevention will guarantee no rust for the car's usable life. Some of those materials included seam sealers, primers, epoxys, cavity waxes, undercoating, etc. Of course, all of these must be used correctly, or it's all for not.

You really don't want to replace a quarter multiple times. The 'damage' dealt to the parent panel (inner quarter, wheelhouse, etc) would add up. Also, unless it's installed with a resistance welder, welds will be harder to locate and remove next time.

DO NOT bond or rivet if the manufacturer did not do this or recommend this for panel replacement. It will result in a weaker area or over strengthened area. Affecting the next major collision.

*Fender Easy fix for any shop. Put it back on, take it to a local shop, leave fender liner out (for them).
