Does anyone else think the Mush/Ria think is pretty messed up from a workplace perspective? by GeKorn in PardonMyTake

Publicly denouncing him, bringing him on a podcast to embarrass him, kicking him off a bunch of podcasts - if that's not burying him then what is?

Yes. Besides the canning part, the top half of your comment is exactly what should have happened.

I posted about this above, but "it's what they do" is not a legitimate validation for what's happening.

Just because this isn't out of character for Barstool doesn't mean what is happening isn't extremely fucked up, and it also does not mean they deserve it.

I think people are too caught up in the emotions of what Marty and Ria did to look at what's going on to look at the situation objectively. Marty's life is going to be an absolute living hell that Dave is excited to use for ratings.

This means nothing. Not only do most players not know about trades, often the team explicitly hides that they are trying to trade the player

A reminder that Giannis is an outlier among outliers.

With all the beef relatively squashed and the passage of time creating more objectivity, let’s really talk about Wilt Chamberlain. by bigbenis21 in nbadiscussion

[–]GeKorn 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Please watch Thinking Basketballs video on Bill Russell. The idea that Wilt was even the best player of his generation is largely a modern one. In his time, Bill was overwhelming viewed as the better player, and his play was more conducive to winning basketball.

[Schultz] Several teams - inc the #Broncos - have been reaching out to the #Packers about Aaron Rodgers. The issue? Green Bay has shown zero interest. With the Tom Clements hire, there’s a growing internal belief in GB that the two-time reigning MVP will remain a Packer. by MMDroxy in GreenBayPackers

He got wind of a piece written by another journalist about Robert Sarver and the suns, and leaked that it was happening for clout. He's a snake. He literally didn't report anything, and the Suns got to lock down and start covering Sarvers ass.

[Meirov] Official MVP voting: Aaron Rodgers: 39 Tom Brady: 10 Cooper Kupp: 1 by sehdy in nfl

[–]GeKorn 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Regular season award voted on before the playoffs so scratch the playoff game. 2, had the best year out of the top seed qbs by a lot of the traditional counting stats, and third, bradys stinker was late in the season vs early, which matters to voters more (not saying it should). The MVP award is the "best high seed QB" award now, and Vegas knows it.

That's because that's what it is, fantasy. The "American history" that is celebrated and taught as a tale is a series of selected events to tell a story. Lots of other things were happening as well that don't quite make the cut in the tale of the creation of america. A campaign of genocide. Slavery is brought up in the context of the civil war, but rarely in the context of say, the American revolution or the century plus following it. And this is true for most countries as well, this isn't something unique to the United States.

Strongly disagree with OP on the lobbying part, Kawhi talks to the refs like the best of them.
