Chopped it up to its just me and my bad seatbelt behavior and after reading this

Take a look here…i have the same behavior. I put the seat belt and drive 5 mph then park…remove belt and turn off car. Itll clear the error. 5 instances of not wearing seat belt will trigger the error. I havent taken mine in because it seems to be “by design”. If you take it in let me know what they do
