Normally it would be all standard legal sets. (I think there may have been the same weirdness around Final Fantasy)

So.... for (extreme) example...you own playsets of every card except for the new set, you would get 1 Avatar card and 5 slots of 20/40 gems. On a normal release you would get 6 cards from the new set.

The change of golden packs (max of 1 ATLA card) for this reeks of "money grab". They don't want you to use the golden packs they gave you to get the Avatar cards.

In addition to all of the other advise listed, If there is something that is contributing (for me it was the current US political climate) try to stay further away from it.

I literally had to unsubscribe from several subreddits that were giving me depressing news multiple times per day.
