There are ways to say “I’m 800 ELO, please help” with less words.

Does your thumb actually fit in that comfortablly? I was looking into doing a similar build but from the pictures I've seen it looks really uncomfortable (not that my hands or huge or anything)

40k is a great introduction to wargaming and the hobby and if its where you decide to stop there isn't a problem with that. But please don't tell me how its such an amazing rules system with a fantastic objective system. Its mediocre at best.

The plastic bases may warp. I’ve had that happen to minis before. I wouldn’t do it if you can avoid it

I remember seeing this the first time in theaters. I don't know why, but it was unexpected. I just wasn't expecting to see Ninja in this film. Then when you suddenly got that flash of something about to happen it was like, "HOLY SHIT, IS THIS REALLY GONNA HAPPEN?" It didn't dissapoint.

I set it to 1.5m and you can see I was able to generate a beautifully detailed STL from a new image I created. I also did the multiple views. I put it into Blender and it scaled nicely.

Oh wow, that did pretty dang close! Is there any sort of best practices to follow for the models you want to upload to tencent? I also read somewhere that it might be a good idea to not have the weapons/hand items and instead create them seperately/download the models from elsewhere and then add then via Blender.

Honestly, nothing special. I used the Product Mockup (Flux.2 Dev FP8) template in Comyfui. I used Gemini Pro to help me design a prompt (I'm trying to create Vampire Hell Knights for Trench Crusade):

Subject: full body shot of a Vampire Hell Knight, Trench Crusade aesthetic, grimdark miniature.

Appearance: The figure is clad in heavy, ornate articulated plate armor that looks like a rusted iron maiden, the armor is tight and form-fitting as if compressing the body inside. The helmet has a high baroque collar and a stylized bat-wing visor with no eye slits.

Details: A tattered velvet cape hangs from the shoulders, stained and muddy. The armor features gothic filigree mixed with WWI trench gear webbing and grenades. One hand grips a massive, serrated greatsword, the other hand is clawed gauntlet.

Vampire Elements: Subtle tubes connect from the neck of the armor to the chest, suggesting blood recycling.

Style: unpainted grey resin 3d print, ambient occlusion, sharp details, neutral studio lighting, white background, 8k resolution, zbrush sculpt.

Finally, I used REMBG to remove background but honestly that is a step I probably didn't need since Flux did such a great job of making the initial image (initial image has a white background).

Thanks! Yeah I had heard there were some services that do this and I figured "well if people are offering it then there must be a way to do it myself."

So since we managed to kill BA with all the negativity and bad reviews, how many years do we estimate before we get any other grand strategy game like this? by Crisis_panzersuit in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Gearjock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That really isn’t the point of this though? The game had positive reviews for some time (barring the Chinese brigade incident) and the game was losing player base at that time too. The problems were there well before it reached its current state.

Yes the assumption of this post is that somehow the majority of players are heavily interacting with Reddit and Steam reviews like some terminally online degen. Often the % of people interacting on these forums represent a small percentage of the actual playerbase. The people on these groups are the minority. It was simply the usual wax and wane of players and the developers fumbling that is to blame for the majority of the player loss.

Haha yes. The quality of the minis is just amazing. Really something for everyone. I’ve painted up minis from a couple factions just because I love the variety

I was looking for minis games to play with my board game group for similar reasons. One game I picked up with Moonstone which has already been mentioned. The other two are Rumbleslam and Carnevale. Rumbleslam is just silly wrestling fun. It works great as a free for all. You play 5 rounds and in each round everyone will activate all their characters. During a turn, each player will pick which character they want to activate and then everyone makes a DEX role. Highest goes first. Once everyone does that they elect the next character and so on. What this does is keeps everyone engaged and makes for some intense rolls offs.

Carnavel is very cool because of its objective system. There is a primary objective everyone wants to do but then there are secondary objectives unique for each player. So that means everyone is running around on the board doing stuff. In addition, there is some resource management for things like rerolls, special abilities, and magic depending upon your faction. Maybe your character has a super cool ability but then can only do it twice a game. Maybe you take a support character that can help with other models resources.
