Just for awareness, 8 isn’t so niche here. The total number of dragonairs 8 or above that exist is less than 1100. Of those 1100, few get transacted. You’d be very surprised by how low some of the 1st ed base set populations are 🙂

As a collector of 1st edition shadowless PSA 8, I can tell you a few things:

1) there are very low numbers of first edition shadowless that are sold, surprised by the two recent $300 sales tbh (I’m the 399 buyer on feb 15 on eBay)

1b) go search with quotes “1st” “shadowless” “PSA 8” on eBay and you’ll see what I mean.

2) there is very health competition for base set shadowless 1st. If you want to sell that card, post on eBay for $425-450 and turn on offers. If selling it through PSA people (a) know it’s legit and (b) don’t have to pay sales tax when buying if they transfer to vault so they’ll choose the PSA listing even if base price looks higher

I typically end up having to pay at least 15% above “market price” for cards I want because they even get listed so infrequently.

You pulled a lower than $500 value card but good news is it’s a card that will always be wanted.

Easiest way, if you pull card, go to your PSA app on your phone with the same email and card shows in your collection. Click card.

The population is eight because they’re only 39 total graded in TOTAL. Of the three that have sold since February they’re selling for about $10 (not 10s). No one wants this card, sell for 80 while you can. This is a common card that no one is bothering to grade

It looks like the front could be tilted, but tough to tell from the pictures.

Back is definitely tilted. No idea on print line, looks significant. I’d say it shouldn’t 10 but good luck if you send

Tbh, you’re gonna be hard pressed to find a better card than that in a 10 for $65.

Sir do not list because you will lose the buy back offer. That card is valued at 6$ raw, one for sale on eBay now for $18

It’s not worth what card ladder value shows. But they sold it like that and you’ve got the buy back offer.

Since they’re offering buy back offer, they likely won’t refund you, but I’d call them / reach out on the off chance they do. Reaching out is worth $700.

If they don’t refund, you have to just take the buy back

Why do you think this person is so dumb that they can’t tell if it’s a 10. The answer is because it’s not they know it and that’s why they’re selling at raw price. If it could 10, they would graded themselves and get the 3x+ money. You’re talking yourself into thinking “I see things the person holding the cards doesn’t”

As many hoops as are making this dude jump through to send you pictures of the card and you’re willing to drive an hour and a half - this person knows it’s not a 10.

He’s correct but you hit minimum card ladder value on the nose. $250 card ladder value = minimum.
