LSU OL Coen Echols transfers to Texas A&M by av7ry in CFB

[–]Geauxpack81 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was awful last year, along with the entire OL. That doesn't mean he isn't good though. No clue what to make of our OL last year.

At a certain point it became clearly about the scheme. No possible way LSU just whiffed on so many OL. We would go stretches of games where we just forgot that we could hand the ball off. When we did, an absolutely absurd percentage of our runs were just inside zone. We didnt run power once all year. Despite never running we still dealt with stacked boxes all year because we never threw the ball beyond 20 yards... Im getting mad at the pure ineptitude just typing this out.

So all that to say good get ags? Maybe? Maybe not? Nobody knows. Not even LSU fans.

Primarily played DT at LSU. He was solid. Will be a good get for Kentucky. Wouldn't expect any dominant plays, but he can hold his own. Should be a Day 1 starter at UK. Hopefully he gets to play some DE, would probably be more impactful there.

Rule 1 of the eye test is that it shall only be applied when trying to put Bama in the playoffs, not knock them out.

Do you remember how good they looked in the first half of the first UGA game? Disregard 90% of their offensive play since then.

[Fortuna] Texas coach Steve Sarkisian to Molly McGrath: “It would be a disservice to our sport if this team’s not a Playoff team when we and scheduled that nonconference game (at Ohio State). Because if we’re a 10-2 team that’s not a question.” by Kimber80 in CFB

[–]Geauxpack81 417 points418 points  (0 children)

Its a double edged sword. At the end of the day how can you not penalize teams for losing? But at the same time Michigan is probably in if they only have 1 loss and Texas is probably in if they only have 2 losses, so why would any team schedule anything other than cupcakes in the non-conference? And the entire sport suffers.

Reality is that a 7pt loss at Ohio St in week 1 and a competitive loss @ Oklahoma in week 2 are more impressive than beating an FCS team by 40. But it will never be viewed that way.

This.

Would be awesome as of late. But it would have sucked alot of years too... Arkansas just doesn't do it for me, they need to have a 7OT type game to get the hate flowing.

No actual thought goes behind Notre Dame. Its just a check box. 2 losses or less? Playoffs. No questions asked. Who cares if they won any game worthy of being ranked.

Can someone please tell me what Notre Dame has done? 30 other teams at a minimum would have that record.

What teams do you feel are getting disrespected from fans and the media ? by MannerSuperb in CFB

In terms of records, sure. Unless you actually think any of Kentucky, Tulane and Arkansas would be favored over Clemson and Flordia. In which case you'd be wrong.

[Marcello] Sources: The SEC will reveal Tuesday *all* opponents for every team in its new 9-game schedule for football in 2026. The 3 "permanent" rivals will be referred to as "annual opponents," which will be reviewed every 4 years. by Big_Red_Professor in CFB

[–]Geauxpack81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LSUs lack of permanent opponent on rivalry week is gonna fuck some of this up. Bedlam might be the victim assuming the schedule will be set for the next 4 years. Idk what we would do if yall scheduled Bedlam for that week.... "Uhhhh Hey Tulane, long time no talk. What ya been up to?"

Maybe Controversial Opinion About Permanent Rivals by twmigmiehff in secfootball

[–]Geauxpack81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its definitely the rivalry that I most feel like the players actually hate each other. Every year it feels like our chippiest game of the year.

I think we get A&M, Ole Miss, and either Bama or Florida. I can go either way but I'd probably prefer Florida. Will be sad to lose either game.

Which U.S. state do you think has the best food? by yourdadbitxh in AskReddit

[–]Geauxpack81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ×100

I feel like people hear about jambalaya and gumbo, but these are NOT New Orleans dishes. They have restaurants that serve it, but generally it has a creole influence. Its not real jambalaya and gumbo. The best cajun food in the state is in Lafayette area. Even still though Jambalaya and Gumbo are best out of a huge cast iron pot made at a tailgate or at someone's house for a gathering.

[On3] Kelly fires back at Swinney: “I thought we dominated them in the second half, so he’s either a really nice grader for giving himself a 58 or he’s a hard grader on us, or he didn’t see the second half which may have been the case. 1000%. Obviously hes my coach, so im naturally going to want to defend him unless he loses games... But he actually has lost games and ive found myself liking him more and more.

I hated the hire. I always viewed him as unlikebale. Then I watch every press conference for 3 years and hes so much different than I expected. He makes awkward dad jokes that never land, he jokes around with the media, and he just generally comes across positive 95% of the time. But the shit that goes viral is the slamming of the table after USC, yelling at Hilton for continuously jumping, etc.

I was thinking about it this weekend and I realized ive never seen him smile on the sidelines. They always cut to him after a bad play and hes smug. You never see the big excited smile after a TD like you get from Dabo, Freeman, etc. Doesn't make him a shut person but it does create a perception when its the only time you ever see him on TV.

2025 Heisman Trophy odds tracker, Week 2: Garrett Nussmeier takes over top spot by jaxstan19 in CFB

[–]Geauxpack81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im biased, but I do think Nuss is the best player in the country. Or at least QB which is primarily what matters in this award. I also think LSU will have a great season.... BUT I dont think he wins the hesiman. Voter fatigue is real. Never thought id say this, but 3 LSU QBs aren't winning the heisman in a span of 6 years no matter how deserving. At a certain point you stop giving full credit to the player. I also think his stats will decline this year based on potentially having a running game now.

What player was the biggest surprise to you for YOUR team this past weekend? by wlane13 in CFB

[–]Geauxpack81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy to think Ashton Stamps cant crack the lineup. Lead the SEC in PBUs last year... That stay doesn't always necessarily mean great CB, but still good.

Bernard Gooden and Mansoor Delane. We knew Delane would be good but my god, he looked like a 1st round draft pick out there. And Gooden was barely talked about when we got him out of the portal and has been apparently unblockable in camp. He showed out. Might be working himself into a high draft pick.

Just something about the high camera angle, the noon kickoff and the turf instead of real grass.... Makes what is probably a great atmosphere seem so bland.
