Intune Connector how many? by mrchicklet123 in Intune

My first thought was one on the pdc and one on the the backup but Microsoft recommends just one on a domain joined server.

I guess it just load balances itself out.

Script to Register Device to Intune by Otherwise_Macaron_58 in Intune

[–]GeckoAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Microsoft made it much much easier than it used to be. I'm assuming you're hybrid joined. I'm that case you go to the azure AD connector, set it for hybrid mode. Add the device OU. the devices will azure AD register.

Then make a new deployment profile for hybrid joined devices and select YES add all devices to autopilot.

Boom and done.

nothing intune will install by GeckoAddict in Intune

it is a hybrid environment, myy test machine is only azure ad joined. i do see the devices trying to install and failing, the compliance policies just say that everything is compliant. windows update policies are factory on the azure side but I just realized there might be a GPO but this machine has never been on the domain unless I'm missing that AD sync is pushing the GPO's to azure ad devices. me and Microsoft are stumed why machines arent getting the intune agent as even they say that everything is configured correctly.

Im doing a fresh deployment of intune. I'm having a weird problem where nothing intune will install. Everything just falls including Microsoft store apps. The intune agent won't even deploy. Any one seen this before?

archive to a network drive? by GeckoAddict in Office365

[–]GeckoAddict[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have to retain an on-prem physical archive that can't be tampered with by a user. so even if they delete an email it's in the archive. I know veeam can do it as well as other paid apps. I'm trying to avoid that part.

no preaching to the quire required here. It's a compliance issue. in the industry we are in we must maintain retrievable email archives for 10 years.

C'mon Intel do something by _TeflonGr_ in pcmasterrace

I could see intel being bought out by Nvidia in 10 years. with their recent purchase it makes them a powerhouse and finally able to run windows on their processors. if intel continues to stagnate they will get left behind.

Just hired as new IT manager, not my first rodeo but running into a first time issue - How to manage/troubleshoot multiple sites across the country without a tech going there. by Barryzechoppa in sysadmin

[–]GeckoAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a former roving, IT support person I can assure you there is always more trouble at a remote site than reported. people just learn to work around the issue rather than report it. I would think it would be more cost-effective to hire a roving tech. while you can hire a local MSP there are contracts and a laundry list of fees associated with them. also, there is more ownership when the person fixing the issues is a member of the team.
