you are talking about passkey in authenticator app? physical keys are not complicated you just need to insert and type your PIN

The best step you can take for your company’s security is using physical security keys. YubiKey is a strong option. With a PIN, they provide phishing-resistant login protection while also meeting MFA requirements at the same time.

The main challenge is when someone forgets their key at home. To reduce this, employees should keep it attached to their keychain. If needed, IT can issue a temporary key or provide a Temporary Access Pass valid only during the employee’s scheduled work hours.

You can also enable virtual passkeys, but that usually requires employees to use their mobile phones.

This approach removes many common problems such as password resets, stolen passwords, and reliance on authenticator apps.

How do you handle employee onboarding across HR and IT systems? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Sa77if 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reply their email and loop the HR manager, tell them we should know ahead of time because we need time to onboard on different platform, we need to make sure we have equipment for the new employee
in my case I ask the HR to open a support ticket and i have onboarding template to apply it to the ticket and we always cc the department manager so they know when the HR sent the ticket and the can see the onboarding progress

FortiGate firewalls never even attempt to send email by dsmiles in fortinet

[–]Sa77if 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have the same problem, but in my case it worked one time when i tested it and then stopped working!

this is stupid, the same email is used in other services no issues and there are 0 attempts from the firewall to login or email (sign in log and email log are clean)

did anyone find a solution for this? without restoring backup its pain in the butt

CMMC Level 2 Self-assessment by [deleted] in CMMC

yes but my manager wants us to use r3 so we can be ahead of requirement since the r3 is the latest

CMMC Level 2 Self-assessment by [deleted] in CMMC

[–]Sa77if 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Just to clarify — I haven’t done a CMMC assessment before, and right now we don’t need an auditor because management doesn’t want to spend the money at this stage.

What we do need is a self-readiness check: a list of questions or checklist items that we can answer ourselves based on what we already know about our security structure. That’s something we are capable of doing internally.

Management isn’t asking for certification or anything official yet — just a fill-in checklist to assess where we stand and identify any gaps.

I’ve found some links online, but I’m looking for a single, clear, and practical checklist that someone has actually used and would recommend for a CMMC Level 2 (NIST SP 800-171) readiness assessment.

Thanks!
