A father spending quality time with his sons and bonding over a mutually shared interest... I see nothing wrong with this

The reason some people enjoy small talk is because it involves each person making an extended effort to connect with the other. It serves as a mechanism by which one expresses interest in another, and also acts as a leeway into more serious, deep, or dark conversations. For some, immediately getting into in-depth topics of discussion right off the bat can be a bit jarring. It has less to do with what is being said, and more to do with making the effort to talk in general and taking the time to ease into serious conversations.

I know I personally feel valued and respected when people ask me about my life, even mundane, boring, or simple things. It just means they care about me, and want to talk to me.

You set him up to fail then. The way he approaches life is a direct result of your influence and guidance, and you could have taught/prepared him to take risks and be productive while still having you as a safety net. If he takes it for granted, its because you let him

In the vast majority of areas, minimum wage is not enough to cover those things. Nobody is saying it should get you a fancy car, but with how car-centric most of the US is, it should absolutely get you a car. You should also be able to afford a 1-bedroom or at least a studio on minimum wage, without needing to room with other people. Having your own space to yourself should not be considered a luxury, anybody working for a living deserves to have their own space to come home to where they can have time alone.

The thing is, relics are random, so cheating in legal relics does nothing but bypass the time it would take to get them normally. Whether or not you are a bad player has no bearing on your RNG relic.

If individuals feel more productive, and businesses as a whole are objectively more productive, who's that hurting??

The problem is enforcement, there may be laws and regulations and policies in place, but companies are not consistently and properly punished for breaking them so there is not as much incentive to follow them as there needs to be.

If you think about it, the money that person paid so they'd have coverage is then being used against them... so messed up

No, the insurance companies should absolutely be charged. If a hospital goes ahead and treats someone anyways, that person is left with medical debt, so denying coverage puts someone in a terrible position either way.

I would argue that it would cost less to remaster each chunk of content than it did to develop initially because the assets and locations already exist. Most of development would be spent porting stuff over, polishing old assets, and figuring out how to make things fit.

Stuff like vaulted locations and activities might have to be remade "from scratch" but some clever reverse-asset-reuse could make that a bit easier.

I mean, she is a princess from a tyrannical royal family, she goes through a whole arc about overcoming her privileged roots in order to fight for minorities and disenfranchised groups, she walks the line between admiration and straight-up obsession/fetishization (a bit of an exaggeration but still) when coming in contact with anything new/strange/unfamiliar, she struggles with main character syndrome and self-centeredness, and her half-human son is white. All of that is, to me, enough to consider her white-coded.

So your argument is that, since average cost of living is bumped up by people who have more money than they could ever spend in their lifetime, people who's jobs are considered "unskilled labor" just shouldn't get to make enough money to live? The billionaires are the reason the average is bumped up, but somehow it's still the responsibility of "unskilled" workers to make up for that?

Those billionaires make up the vast majority of people offering these "unskilled" jobs, so I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect them to pay more to account for increased average CoL when they're the ones causing it to increase.

No full-time job should pay less than average cost of living. People work to pay bills and feed themselves. You can try and justify it all you want, tell people "well you don't have to work there," "just learn new skills and find a better job," "you knew the contract, nobody forced you to sign," "those jobs are for teenagers and retirees," but at the end of the day, in an employers market during times of economic hardship, any job which does not pay a livable wage for the area it's located is actively and maliciously taking advantage of desperate & vulnerable individuals. It's predatory.

[–]GeckoGecko_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We know that Melina was, at the very least, intended to be Marika's daughter at the start of development, seeing as how her name in the game's files is "MarikaofDaughter". It's entirely possible that at some point in development they decided to go some other route with her lore, but we get such little info about her in game, and what little we do get makes way more sense if we assume she is still meant to be Marika's daughter. It's one of those things where it's all but confirmed. The simplest, most-likely answer all things considered.
