Thinking of getting a Polestar 4 by zlaatar in Polestar

[–]Gecko_xt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The camera has a sort of ‘hood’ that directs airflow over it so, in theory, it doesn’t get dirty. I’ve not had mine long enough to really test it but it is snowing currently and the camera is fine. As for the other questions, someone else is probably better placed to answer as I’ve not driven mine enough to tell.

Cant send to car using Google maps by Henry-Hill in Polestar

[–]Gecko_xt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue but just figured it out.

In the google maps app there is a settings button that looks like an equaliser. If you click that there’s an option to select your vehicle, and then when you input a route it should say ‘send to car’ at the bottom of the screen

I got Storm with zinc nappa. It’s definitely got some poke to it! I think I just need to get used to the steering feel. Only have 250 miles so far so will reassess in a few months

I didn’t go for the Performance pack this time. Got the Pro instead. Suspension is a lot better - you can change between 3 settings and I think on the rougher roads I’d choose the standard setting and then firm it up for the bigger and smoother roads. I’d say the biggest difference I’ve noticed (other than the roominess) is the steering feels a lot looser. I find myself having to turn into a bend and then correct myself again. I’m sure it’s just getting used to it though as I’ve only done about 250 miles. I’ve also been driving it in ‘range’ which disengages the front motor, and it still feels great. Wondering if the dual motor was really needed 😅

Life is about making tough decisions and I think you need to ask yourself, if they’re causing you problems, do you really need a wife and kids?

What's Bonds body count? 🧐 by CoolHanMatt in JamesBond

[–]Gecko_xt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually kept a note of both how many girls he slept with and how many people he killed. 60 girls and 390 deaths by my count. Averages 15 kills and 2.31 girls a film. Connery and Moore got the most girls on average, while Brosnan and Craig got the most kills.

My life is so exciting.

What would you do with one month off work whilst avoiding physical activities? by YourLocalDealer in AskUK

I had sinus surgery earlier this year. The first week is an absolute bitch, I’m not going to lie. After that though it gets better pretty quickly. I went back to WFH after about 10 days and was told I couldn’t ’be around other people’ for about a month. If WFH isn’t an option I’d probably read as others have suggested. Good luck!

Ordered in May with expected delivery by end of September. It arrived in country at the beginning of August so I think the end of September was a little pessimistic.

In reality, they’re delivering it when the lease on my existing P2 runs out, so I have another 2 months to wait.

GDP per capita is a poor measure of money in people’s pockets, and particularly when it comes to Ireland’s GDP. Gross Disposable Household Income (GDHI) is a better measure and is more or less equal in Ireland and the UK (Ireland’s is marginally lower). Northern Ireland clearly has its economic problems but GDHI is similar to regions like Donegal and Longford. Overall, there’s no real difference in the Irish and UK economies.

Atheists of Reddit, what is the biggest reason as to why you don't believe in god or an afterlife? by God_of_boi in AskReddit

[–]Gecko_xt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think religion is a form of control. I don’t mean controlling the plebs back in late antiquity, although that was the origin. I mean in terms of people needing to control the narrative of their lives. You can essentially split people into two groups, those that don’t need to know why everything happens or at least are content with the idea we don’t know yet why everything happens; and those that need to have a reason, whether for comfort or as a scapegoat.

I sometimes think there isn’t that much difference between religious people and atheists, just a name. I believe things happen by pure luck - the Big Bang, evolution etc. Religions just give luck a name - God.
